About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Benjamin, and thanks for stopping by.
I know that looking for a counsellor can sometimes feel like a big step. To make things a little easier, I’d like to tell you a bit about how I work, what to expect, and how I might be able to help.
How I work and my approach -
I'm an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different types of counselling depending on what feels most helpful for you. I use a blend of approaches, including psychodynamic, which explores how our past can influence us today; person-centred, which provides a supportive space to better understand yourself; and CBT, which focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I also use creative approaches where helpful, particularly when feelings are difficult to put into words.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. Whatever brings you here, we'll work together to explore it at a pace that feels right for you.
What to expect -
I see counselling as a collaborative process. Rather than telling you what to do, I'll work alongside you, helping you make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Together, we can explore the stories you hold about yourself, the beliefs you've picked up along the way, and the patterns that may no longer be serving you. Alongside empathy and a non-judgmental space, I also believe there is room for humour, creativity and gentle challenge.
A little about me -
Before training as a counsellor, I spent over ten years in the arts. Alongside my counselling practice, I am currently studying for an MSc in Psychology. This continues to deepen my understanding of mental health through the relationship between the brain and the body.
Getting in touch -
Whether you're coming to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or simply curious, you're welcome here.
If you’d like to have a conversation about starting counselling, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Practice description
Areas of experience -
I have over three years experience working with clients in a wide range of areas including anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief, health related issues, self-esteem, OCD, neurodiversity, sexuality, relationship and family conflict, stress, identity, discrimination, burnout, and trauma.
Alongside this, I have worked with women who have experienced imprisonment. In this context, I have supported individuals navigating the complex and often long-lasting impact of being incarcerated. This has included working with the effects of trauma, abuse, loss, parenting challenges, separation from family, and the road to rebuilding life after incarceration.
In addition, I have spent a significant amount of time working with people in the performing and visual arts sector.

Online sessions are held via Zoom. In-person session locations include NW, SE, and SW areas of London, as well as Harrow.
