About me and my therapy practice
Welcome
You have found a unique, Person-Centred Counselling service for adults, offered in-person from my yurt near Collieston, Aberdeenshire, outdoors via Walk and Talk through local coastal countryside, or online UK-wide.
My practice is built on the belief that when we are truly heard and accepted, we find the strength to navigate even the most turbulent seasons of life. I hold the space so you can safely explore and identify your own feelings and healing, finding your way to move forward. You are not alone in this.
I am a Person-Centred counsellor with a PGDip in Person-Centred Counselling, and a Registered Accredited Member of ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, recognition of both my training and years of clinical experience.
Practice description
My path to counselling has been shaped by a deep appreciation for the human story, language, and the natural world. With an MA in History of Art, I began my career in media and the arts before moving into work with children and families as my own four children grew up here in Aberdeenshire. That background gave me a particular sensitivity to human development, to the power of play, and to how much a nurturing environment matters, something I now bring to my work with adults.
I have lived near Collieston for many years and feel a deep connection to this landscape. I chose to practise from the yurt because it offers a quiet, safe sanctuary away from the noise of daily life, with a wood-burning stove and nature as a constant, grounding companion, you may see our ponies in the surrounding fields, or the chickens free-ranging in their own quirky way. Whether we’re in the yurt, walking the coastal countryside, or meeting online, my aim is the same: a steady, empathetic presence while you find your own way forward, in whichever setting feels most like yours.
Time volunteering at GREC in Aberdeen, including their Working with Translators course, gave me a further sensitivity to the nuances of language and communication, how we each find our own way to express what’s going on inside, and the importance of being truly understood, in whatever language or medium that takes.
No two people’s route through is the same. I try to stay attuned to yours specifically, so that what you leave with in each session, and eventually beyond therapy altogether is a stronger sense of your own footing, more like yourself again.
I invite you to join me. Empower yourself. Be you.

How it Works: 3 Easy Steps
I aim to make the process of starting therapy feel as simple and non-scary as possible. We move at your pace:
Step 1 – Email me: Ask to book a free initial meeting. This lasts up to 20 minutes and is held online. I’ll explain how I work, and you can ask any questions you have.
Step 2 – Connection: If it feels like a good fit, we can book a session. We will agree on the therapeutic space (Yurt, local coastal walk, or online), the date, and the time. I will send you a contract to confirm our therapeutic agreement. Sign and email back to me. Ready to start.
Step 3 – Fees are payable in advance to secure your time. Then you turn up. There is no pressure to "perform" or know exactly what to say; we take it from there.
Choosing the setting that feels most comfortable for you:
In-Person: In the calm confidential Yurt in my garden based in Collieston, Aberdeenshire.
Walk & Talk: Risk-assessed routes through local, coastal countryside.
Online: Available UK-wide via video call.
Choose the frequency of sessions to fit in with your life pattern.
These choices help empower you in your counselling experience.
