About me and my therapy practice
Something doesn’t feel right, and maybe it hasn’t for a very long time. Anxiety is starting to interfere with your day to day life in ways you can’t ignore. You’ve tried different ways to cope and you may even know exactly what isn’t working, yet nothing seems to change, and you’re wondering if therapy might finally help.
I am a person-centred counsellor in private practice and volunteering for charities. I have supported clients with range of issues including bereavement (Counsellor for Cruse Scotland), diagnosis of autism and ADHD and other neurodivergence, family relationships, exploring identity, parenting challenges and multiculturalism.
Practice description
I offer a warm, non-judgmental and caring presence, beside you as you explore your inner world. We will look at the stories and experiences shaping your life, and explore new ways of understanding your experiences so that life feels more like your own and you feel less overwhelmed in the face of what is happening.
My practice is trauma-informed, we will explore the most difficult parts of your life gently and more importantly at your pace. As an ex-biologist, I recognise the importance of the body’s reactions in our experiences and I can provide insights understanding its contribution and how to help manage it.
If you feel drawn to a gentle, relational approach, and would value having someone alongside you as you explore what feels difficult or stuck, you are welcome to email me to arrange an introductory conversation. This gives us a chance to meet, for you to ask any questions, and to see whether we feel like a good fit. There is no obligation, simply an opportunity to take a first step.
My first session
In our first introductory free session, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and hopefully get a feel for how a session feels like.
There are no assessments, just bring yourself and we will take it from there.
