About me and my therapy practice

Does life sometimes feel overwhelming? You may be feeling anxious, low, stuck or lonely, grieving a loss, or struggling to make sense of a change in your life. Perhaps things don't feel quite like they used to, and you're finding it difficult to cope with the impact on your relationships, work, family life, or sense of self.

Life can change in ways we never expected. The death of someone important to us, the end of a relationship, redundancy, retirement, changes in health, becoming a parent, or simply reaching a point where life no longer feels as it once did can leave us feeling lost and uncertain.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is happening for you. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. Together, we can explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

As a person-centred counsellor, I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than offering advice or telling you what you should do, I will walk alongside you, helping you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences so that you can find your own way forward.

I have particular experience supporting people through grief, bereavement, life transitions, loneliness, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression and issues relating to self-esteem and identity.

Practice description

Loss and change can affect every part of our lives. While we often think of grief as following a bereavement, it can also arise through changes in relationships, work, health, identity, fertility, independence, or future plans.

I work with adults and older adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including grief, anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity and major life transitions. My previous experience supporting both older adults through Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire and young people through KidsAid has given me an appreciation of the unique challenges we can face throughout different stages of life.

I offer counselling in a variety of ways to suit your needs:

• In-person counselling in a comfortable and confidential setting.

• Online counselling via secure video sessions.

• Telephone counselling.

• Home visits within 10 miles of Long Buckby.

• Walk and talk therapy across Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.

Many clients find that being outdoors and moving alongside their counsellor makes it easier to talk and reflect. Walk and talk sessions can offer a gentle alternative to traditional room-based therapy while still providing the same therapeutic support.

Whatever brings you to counselling, my aim is to provide a space where you feel heard, accepted and supported without judgement.

My first session

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, and it's important that you find a counsellor who feels right for you.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory telephone call where we can talk about what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.

If you decide to continue, our first session will be a gentle opportunity to begin exploring what is going on for you and what you hope counselling might offer. There is no pressure to discuss anything before you feel ready.
