About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I鈥檓 Danielle, an integrative therapist.

I work with women who are exhausted from holding everything together. Women who are constantly thinking, planning, managing, anticipating, and supporting everyone else - yet rarely feel able to slow down themselves.

You do not need to be in crisis or completely falling apart to come to therapy. Often, clients reach out because something no longer feels sustainable, or because they鈥檝e spent so long coping and pushing through that they鈥檝e lost connection with themselves somewhere along the way.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a solicitor and later in senior global HR leadership roles for fifteen years. Through those experiences, I saw how easy it can be to lose connection with yourself when productivity, responsibility, and coping become the default way of living.

My approach is warm, thoughtful, and grounded in real life. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most supportive for you. Alongside talking therapy, this may include mindfulness, nervous system awareness, reflective exercises, or gentle body-based approaches where appropriate.

I want therapy to feel like a space where you don鈥檛 need to perform, hold everything together, or get things 鈥渞ight鈥.

Practice description

Our work might involve exploring patterns that developed earlier in life, understanding why certain situations trigger strong emotional responses, or noticing how stress and pressure are showing up in your body. Together we鈥檒l develop greater awareness, self-compassion and choice, so that life feels less like something you鈥檙e simply getting through.

My work is informed by person-centred therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-informed perspectives, and body awareness.

I have a particular interest in supporting women experiencing:

鈥 Anxiety and overthinking

鈥 Burnout and emotional exhaustion

鈥 Perfectionism and people-pleasing

鈥 Stress related to work, relationships, and family life

鈥 Guilt, self-criticism, and feeling 鈥渘ot enough鈥

鈥 Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure what you need

鈥 Procrastination, shutdown, and feeling stuck under pressure

My first session

Before beginning therapy, I offer a free initial consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and consider whether working together feels like the right fit.

The first full session is slightly more structured and gives us space to explore your current concerns, relevant background, and what you would like from therapy. We will also discuss practical aspects of the work, including confidentiality, session frequency, and boundaries.

Although the first session includes some assessment and practical information, there is no expectation to share everything immediately. Therapy develops over time, and we will work at a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
