About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes we can feel stuck with what’s already happened. I offer a calm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experience, make sense of things, and begin to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
You might find yourself going over things, trying to understand them, or feeling unsure how to move forward. It could be something recent, or something that’s been there for a long time but hasn’t fully settled.
In these moments, it can be hard to make sense of what’s happening on your own. Having a space to explore your experience with someone who will listen carefully and without judgement can begin to make a difference.
Life can feel difficult in different ways - whether it’s ongoing pressure, a relationship, loss, or something from the past that hasn’t quite settled. At times, this can show up as feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of yourself.
In our work together, there is space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and to understand your experience more fully. As that understanding develops, things can begin to feel clearer, and you may find a different way of relating to what’s been difficult.
You don’t have to work through this on your own.
Practice description
My approach
My approach is grounded in person-centred therapy, with an integrative way of working.
At the heart of this is the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. My role is not to advise or fix, but to offer a thoughtful, supportive space where you can explore things openly and at your own pace.
I aim to work in a way that feels collaborative, respectful, and real.
Areas I can help with
I work with young people and adults, supporting a range of experiences, including:
- Feeling stuck or unable to move forward
- Anxiety and overthinking
- Low mood or loss of direction
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement and loss
- Neurodiversity and related challenges
- Past experiences that continue to affect the present
- Self-esteem and self-acceptance
Whatever you’re bringing, we can take the time to explore it together in a way that feels manageable and right for you.
My background
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked for nearly 30 years in secondary education, supporting young people and families, including those with additional needs.
During that time, I experienced my own period of feeling stuck and uncertain, which led me to seek counselling.
That experience had a lasting impact on me and ultimately led me to retrain as a counsellor. It continues to shape how I work, particularly my understanding of how important it is to feel heard, accepted, and not judged.
Getting started
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to feel unsure.
I offer a free introductory conversation, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
If something here resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch.

My first session
Our first session is a relaxed conversation about what’s brought you here and what you might want to explore.
You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. There’s no pressure or expectation - just a supportive space to begin to think about whether this feels right for you.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. We’ll go at your pace, in a way that feels supportive and meaningful to you. This might involve gently exploring your past, focusing on the present, or finding ways to manage difficult feelings.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.
Types of therapy
Integrative, Person centred, Psychoanalytic, Solution focused brief therapy
Clients I work with
