About me and my therapy practice

Because every person is entirely unique, my counselling space adapts completely to you. I hold a deeply safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you can explore uncomfortable emotions at your own pace. Depending on what you or your child need, we can integrate different ways of working:

Talk Therapy & Psychoeducation: Helping you understand the "why" behind your emotions, thoughts, and nervous system responses.

Creative Therapy: Using art, play, or creative materials. This is an incredibly gentle way to express and process big feelings when words feel too difficult to find.

Nature & Outdoor Therapy: Taking our sessions outside. Walking side-by-side removes the intense pressure of direct eye contact, while nature naturally helps to calm and regulate your physical nervous system.

Big life changes, especially in childhood have such an impact on us, and it's about seeing these patterns and deciding if you want to change them or if understanding them is enough.

As an experienced school counsellor, I understand how easily children and young people can feel lost in the noise of big life changes. I provide specialised children's counselling in Horsham and surrounding areas to help young people safely speak up for themselves.

My professional background includes extensive, dedicated therapy working within a local Primary and Secondary School, as well as at  a Local Hospice, giving me a deep understanding of youth mental health, school anxiety and bereavement.

For School-Aged Children: I offer a playful, creative environment where they feel truly heard and safe to explore school stress, family changes, or low self-esteem.

I also offer outdoor therapy: For children and adults who need movement to feel calm—especially good neurodivergent adults and children —moving our sessions outdoors provides the physical freedom they need to regulate, lower cortisol, and open up naturally.

First Aid trained. DBS (both for adults and children)

Practice description

It takes immense courage to consider counselling, whether you’re seeking support for yourself or trying to find the right help for your child. Looking closely at parts of ourselves that have been tucked away can feel heavy and overwhelming.

Please know that you do not have to hold that weight by yourself.

My practice is built on warmth, reflection and gentle curiosity. Together, we will build a trusting, secure relationship where you, or your child, can feel entirely safe to explore those uncomfortable spaces. I will be right beside you, keeping you safe every step of the way. There is no judgement to make life changes unless you want to.

You are unique, so our sessions will look exactly how you need them to look. There is no pressure to get things right.

• Building Our Connection: We start with a set number of sessions to find our rhythm and get to know each other.

• Checking In: We will regularly review our progress together. We can change our approach whenever you need.

• Finding What Helps: We can focus psychoeducation, or deeper, thoughtful questions. Again this is led by what works for you.

I offer flexible settings to suit your needs

For Adults

• The Counselling Room: A calm, private space to step away from the noise of life.

• Online Sessions: Gentle support delivered straight to the comfort and safety of your own home.

• Nature & Walk Therapy: Side-by-side outdoor sessions. Using nature to regulate and reflect.

For Children

• Creative Expression: A playful, creative environment where children feel truly heard and safe to speak up for themselves.

• Outdoor Regulation: For children who need movement to feel calm—especially those with autism and ADHD—moving our sessions outside gives them the freedom to regulate and open up.

Whether you need a confidential space to finally be heard and believed, or you are looking for gentle, creative support for your child, my door is open.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I am Tamsin and I'm a Humanistic counsellor who works both long and short term.

I work closely with you to provide a safe and confidential space to explore whatever you would like to look at within the session. I am client led and can work creatively, outdoors, online or face to face. For me, it is what the client feels most comfortable with that is most important.

I have worked with adults online, in schools and in a hospice setting, so my experience is working with (but not limited to) putting in boundaries, social anxiety, sense of identity, grief, anticipatory grief and loss. Often, especially in grief work, there is a need to know that what you are going through is 'normal' and that you can connect again with people.

Practice description

In a world where we can feel isolated, counselling is a space to connect with yourself and work out what it is that feels missing.

Being heard and really listened to gives you the power to make decisions about yourself. We can look at your past and see if there are repeating patterns that you might want to change. I work with you using psychoeducation, mindfulness and being in the here and now.

My first session

Our first session will be a fifteen minute free phone call to explore what you are looking for in counselling and if I am the right counsellor for you. Then I will send you a contract and we will organise your first session in the manner that you would prefer.
