About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or carrying more than you can manage alone?
Perhaps you are struggling with a loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself. You may not be entirely sure what is wrong – only that life feels harder than it used to.
I offer a warm, down-to-earth and supportive space where you can talk openly without fear of judgement. Together, we can explore what is happening in your life, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you find a way forward.
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, Jungian and existential approaches, tailoring therapy to your individual needs. I work in a trauma-informed way, recognising that difficult life experiences can have a lasting impact on our lives and relationships.
I offer counselling online across the UK, in person from my practice in Kent, and outdoors through nature-based therapy. Some clients find it easier to talk whilst walking or spending time in nature. Where appropriate, I can incorporate elements of forest therapy, mindfulness in nature and grounding practices to support emotional wellbeing.
Alongside counselling, I also offer separate wellbeing sessions through Mussenden Wellbeeing, including sound therapy and nature-based wellbeing experiences.
I have experience supporting people with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, life transitions, grief and loss, identity issues, self-harm, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences.
Whatever brings you to therapy, you will be met with warmth, honesty and respect. You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Practice description
My practice offers a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is troubling you at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, stress, low self-esteem or feeling stuck in life, therapy provides an opportunity to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences.
The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I aim to create an environment where you feel heard, accepted and supported, allowing us to work together to explore challenges, identify patterns and develop greater self-awareness and resilience.
I offer counselling online across the UK, face-to-face from my practice in Kent, and outdoors through nature-based therapy. Some people prefer the privacy and convenience of online sessions, while others value meeting in person or walking and talking in a natural environment.
My counselling room is private, comfortable and designed to provide a calm space for reflection. Outdoor sessions take place in natural settings and can incorporate elements of forest therapy, mindfulness in nature and grounding techniques where appropriate. Many clients find that being outdoors helps them feel more relaxed and less pressured, making it easier to explore difficult thoughts and feelings.
As well as counselling, I offer separate wellbeing sessions through Mussenden Wellbeeing, including nature-based wellbeing experiences and sound therapy. These are distinct from counselling but can complement a wider focus on wellbeing and self-care.
I work in a trauma-informed way and recognise the importance of safety, trust and collaboration within the therapeutic process. Whatever brings you to therapy, you will be met with warmth, honesty and respect.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will talk about what is happening for you, what you hope to gain from counselling, and how I may be able to support you.
I offer counselling online, face-to-face, and outdoors through nature-based therapy, so we can discuss which approach feels most comfortable for you. I will explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and talk through practical matters such as confidentiality, session structure and what you can expect from therapy.
I do not require a formal assessment, although I may ask some gentle questions about your background, current circumstances and goals to help me understand your needs. The first session is also an opportunity for you to decide whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
My initial assessment session is offered at a reduced fee of £25. If we decide to continue working together, we can discuss fees at this session. I have a range depending on the environment you choose.
If at the end of the session you would like to continue, we can arrange further appointments. If you would prefer time to reflect on whether counselling with me feels right for you, that is completely okay too.
