About me and my therapy practice

Welcome — I'm glad you're here., whether it be for counselling , supervision or couples counselling

With a background spanning education, mental health, and sport — including nearly seven years in an integrated role within an NHS mental health team — I bring a broad and compassionate perspective to my counselling work.  No two people are alike, and your way of processing the world is uniquely yours — I honour that in everything we do.

I have also completed additional couples qualifications and utilise a solution focused based approach to help couples build understanding , communication and positive change and have trained in supervision . I am presently undertaking a Diploma in clinical SF hypnotherapy .

For individual therapy I offer a warm space to explore difficult or painful experiences, particularly around family dynamics and emotionally complex relationships. If you're navigating the emotional impact of divorce or adjusting to a new chapter in your life, you're not alone — we can work together to help you find solid ground again.

I  offer a specialist service for those in the equestrian world. As someone who has competed at Badminton Grassroots, BE, BS and BD, I understand the immense joy — and pressure — of sport. Whether you're battling nerves ahead of competition day, looking to regain confidence after a setback, or just want to rediscover your love for the sport, I’m here to listen with empathy .

As a mature woman, I also understand how life transitions can impact our world — for example the menopause ,which  can shake  confidence and sense of identity, especially in performance settings. Is self-doubt or old narratives are getting in your way. Let’s work together to shift that — so you can show up fully, whether in the saddle or in life.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to have a conversation. Reach out — your story is worth being heard, and it’s never too late to begin untangling the threads.

About me and my therapy practice

My supervision is built around several principles. ( using Functional and Process Modalities)

Safety

Psychological safety comes first.

Curiosity

I won't tell you what to do.

Instead , I'll help you think more deeply and discover your own answers, with my perspective where needed and further guidance if you are a student .

Compassion

We all experience self-doubt.

Supervision should reduce shame, not create it.

Accountability

We also have responsibilities to our clients, our profession and ourselves.

Support and accountability go hand in hand.

Development

Whether you're a student or an experienced practitioner, we never stop learning.

As an integrative practitioner, I draw on different models depending on what is most helpful.

These include:

• Person-Centred

• Solution Focused Therapy

• Transactional Analysis

• Psychodynamic thinking

• Gestalt awareness

• Psychoeducation of trauma stabilisation

• Reflective practice

Within supervision I also draw upon established supervision models where appropriate, helping supervisees think about client work, themselves, the therapeutic relationship and the wider systems influencing practice. I do this using the functional model and elements of the Process 7 eyed model .

If we work together, you can expect me to be:

• approachable

• honest

• supportive

• appropriately challenging

• respectful

• reliable

• confidential

• ethical

You can also expect me to encourage reflection rather than simply giving advice, although students sometimes need a more guided approach within the supervision model as their confidence needs building .

Sometimes the most valuable supervision comes from asking the right question rather than giving the quickest answer.
