About me and my therapy practice

I offer a compassionate, thoughtful and authentic counselling space, shaped by both professional understanding and lived experience of mental health challenges. I know first-hand how overwhelming life can feel at times and I believe meaningful support begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood and accepted without judgement.

My approach is gentle and holistic, yet down-to-earth and conversational. Together we can uncover new perspectives, and build practical strategies that support your well-being and personal growth. I will work alongside you at your pace, tailoring our sessions to meet your needs as a unique individual.

At the heart of my work is our counselling relationship. By building mutual trust, openness and understanding, I believe we can work towards meaningful change, greater self-awareness, and a stronger sense of wellbeing. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge, feeling stuck, or simply want space to reflect, I will meet you where you are, and walk alongside you in the process.

Practice description

I practice integratively, which means I draw on different therapeutic methods to suit your individual needs, rather than using a ‘one-size-fits-all’ way of working. I am also trained in coaching, which can be helpful if you’d like to explore practical steps towards change alongside emotional support.

I work with a wide range of issues and clients, but I have a particular interest in helping clients navigate the complex emotions around bereavement, life transitions and mid and later life. Issues around loss, change, identity, retirement, loneliness, illness and questions about meaning can emerge powerfully during these times. I will work sensitively alongside you as a client and help you to reconnect with your strengths, resilliance and capacity for growth.

Through my work and personal experience, I also understand the complex role of the Carer and the mixed emotions it can raise. I know that it can take courage to seek help for yourself when you may have spent years caring for others. If this is you, I will work alongside you with empathy and honesty and in a space where you can explore the complexity of your emotions without judgement.

To help you on your journey, I bring with me a wealth of professional experience in the field of person-centred care, having worked in social care settings for over 25 years. This has given me a deep understanding of the practical and personal challenges people may face in their lives.

My first session

In our first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other, talking about what’s brought you to counselling, and what you’d like to get out of it. It’s a chance for you to see if I feel like the right fit for you – there’s no pressure, just a warm, confidential space to begin your journey.
