About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes in life it can feel as though there is a pressure to hold yourself together, manage what is expected of you, or be who others need you to be in different parts of life.

You may notice this in different ways, such as overthinking things after they happen, or a sense of lingering anxiety that stays with you longer than you would like. At times, it can feel easier to focus on other people’s needs than your own, especially when that has become a familiar way of getting through life. Alongside this, there may be a deeper sense of not feeling fully at ease in yourself, or with where you are in life.

If this feels familiar, therapy can be a space where you don’t need to perform or get it right. I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk about what feels difficult, uncertain, or important to you right now. You can begin from wherever you are, and take things at a pace that feels steady for you.

Practice description

I work in a warm, steady, and person-centred way, offering a supportive environment where you can feel heard without judgement. I stay with you as you explore whatever feels present for you, whether that feels clear, uncertain, emotional, or hard to put into words. You do not need to arrive with questions or answers; we take things as they come, entirely following your lead.

Some people come with a specific issue they want to focus on, while others are simply feeling a bit lost. Both are entirely welcome. We do not need to rush towards clarity; we can take time to understand things as they are, without any pressure to find immediate answers.

Therapy can also include moments of lightness and humour where it feels natural. It is a space where some of the weight feels a little easier to carry, and over time, helps you begin making sense of your experience as it is now, as it has been, and how it may unfold going forward.

Some of the things we can explore together include:

â–  Experiencing anxiety, social anxiety, or a constant sense of worry

â–  The weight of overthinking and holding yourself to high self-expectations

â–  People-pleasing and finding it hard to recognise or express your own needs

â–  Feeling depleted, exhausted, or close to burnout

â–  Navigating life transitions, endings, or periods of change

â–  A general sense of feeling disconnected, unsettled, or not quite yourself

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet and see how it feels to work together, with no obligation to commit. There is no expectation for you to have everything figured out or to tell your whole story right away.

We will use this time to briefly explore what has brought you to therapy and what you might hope to get out of it. It is also a chance for you to ask me any questions you might have about how I work. It is an informal, low-pressure conversation designed to help you decide if I feel like the right fit for you.
