About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I鈥檓 Sammi, a qualified integrated counsellor
I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, overthinking, relationship difficulties, ADHD, autism, or feeling overwhelmed by life鈥檚 challenges, I am here to support you.
I have a particular interest in working with adults with ADHD. Alongside my professional training, I have personal experience of living with ADHD and parenting a child with ADHD. This gives me a deeper understanding of some of the challenges that neurodivergent individuals may face, including emotional overwhelm, racing thoughts, difficulties with organisation, low self-confidence, masking, and feeling misunderstood.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I believe there is no 鈥渙ne-size-fits-all鈥 approach to therapy. Every person is unique, so I tailor our work together to suit your individual needs and goals.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including:
鈥 Person-Centred Therapy 鈥 providing empathy, acceptance, and a safe space for self-exploration.
鈥 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) 鈥 helping you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
鈥 Psychodynamic approaches 鈥 exploring how past experiences and relationships may influence your current difficulties.
Together, we can explore what is troubling you, develop greater self-awareness, build effective coping strategies, and help you move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting. My aim is to create a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself and working at a pace that feels right for you.
You do not have to navigate things alone. I will walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences, recognise your strengths, and move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
Practice description
exploring Anxiety and Depression: We can explore both the immediate and deeper layers of your experience. When working with anxiety, we might use grounding tools to help calm the mind and body, alongside gentle exploration of where worry and tension originate. With depression, our work can include finding ways to ease day-to-day difficulties while also creating space to understand your true self.
For those living with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence, integrative therapy provides a valuable space to explore the challenges you may face in everyday life. Together, we can work on areas such as maintaining focus, managing time, developing self-esteem, improving relationships, and supporting emotional regulation. Just as importantly, our sessions are a place where you can be yourself.
My first session
My location is situated in a peaceful location with access to beautiful lakeside walks and natural surroundings. Many clients find that spending a few moments in nature before or after a session helps them feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to process their thoughts and emotions.
The area also offers wildlife, including ducks and fish, and quiet seating areas where you can take time for reflection. Whether you choose to enjoy a gentle walk before your appointment or allow yourself some space afterwards, the tranquil setting can provide an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and support your wellbeing alongside the therapeutic process.
The space also offers free parking, please give your registration to reception, who will kindly assist you.
