About me and my therapy practice
You might be used to coping on your own. Pushing through. Overthinking. Keeping things together on the outside, while something underneath doesn鈥檛 feel quite right.
Therapy with me isn鈥檛 about being analysed or 鈥渇ixed.鈥 It鈥檚 about having a space where you don鈥檛 have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
I鈥檓 a qualified counsellor, a registered member of the 糖心官网, and I also hold a degree in psychology. Alongside this, I鈥檝e trained at the Anna Freud Centre in mentalisation-based approaches. This combination allows me to work both intuitively and with a deep understanding of how our minds and relationships develop.
In practice, that means I won鈥檛 just focus on what you鈥檙e feeling, but help you understand why鈥攅specially in moments when emotions feel confusing, overwhelming, or hard to put into words.
Together, we take the time to explore patterns, relationships, and the way you relate to yourself. Change doesn鈥檛 come from pressure鈥攊t comes from understanding.
My approach is about helping you understand yourself on a deeper level, not just finding ways to cope. I draw on mentalisation-based approaches to gently explore what鈥檚 happening in your thoughts and emotions鈥攅specially in those moments that feel confusing or hard to make sense of, often in relationships. I work in a flexible, integrative way, so our sessions are shaped around you rather than a fixed method. You don鈥檛 need to arrive with clear answers or know exactly what to say鈥攚hether you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply unsure, we can begin there. While my background in psychology supports the work, what you鈥檒l experience is a real, human conversation鈥攖houghtful, grounded, and at your pace.
Together, we can work through anxiety, depression, past trauma, identity issues, relationship challenges, or a general sense of overwhelm or dissatisfaction with life.
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to meet and get a feel for working together. There鈥檚 no pressure to explain everything perfectly or have a clear idea of what you want from therapy yet.
We can gently explore what鈥檚 brought you here, what鈥檚 been on your mind, and what kind of support might feel helpful right now. You鈥檙e welcome to ask any questions along the way, and I鈥檒l explain how I work so you can decide if it feels like the right fit for you.
Some people come with something very specific, others just know that something doesn鈥檛 feel quite right鈥攚e can start wherever you are. I offer both short-term and longer-term work, with sessions available online or in person, depending on what suits you best.
My aim is to walk alongside you at your pace鈥攐ffering space, clarity, and support as things begin to make more sense.
