About me and my therapy practice
My name is Sebastyan Faemoore (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø). I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), based in South Wales.
A client once asked me why I chose to become a counsellor. My answer was:
“I have a lot of faith in people.â€
I am often in awe of my clients. I want to hear their stories; their loves and hates, their struggles and triumphs. We all deserve a space where we can be fully ourselves, to be heard without judgement.
I believe each person is doing the best they can with the tools they have. Sometimes, though, those tools are not quite enough for the challenges they face. I also believe that, given the right environment, time, and support, a person can develop new tools, grow, adapt, and learn to trust themselves again.
I would not be who I am today without the personal therapy I received. It can be an intimidating task, but finding the right person can be so rewarding.
Practice description
One on One, Person Centred Counselling
I was primarily trained in Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), an approach built on one core belief: the only true expert on you is you.
Only you can fully understand your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and memories. PCT trusts that you have the capacity to find your own answers, but self-reflection and self-trust can be hard to approach alone.
My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore who you are and what matters to you. Lasting change begins with understanding and accepting yourself.
In this style of counselling, you won’t be judged, interrupted, lectured, or spoken down to. I may ask open questions to help you reflect more deeply, but the journey is yours.
Where there might once have been shame, there can be curiosity. Where there was repression, there can be exploration.
And from there, you can begin to ask:
“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me?â€
— Carl Rogers
My first session
Before our first session, I like to arrange a brief call: no longer than 20 minutes. This gives you a chance to share a little about what you'd like to bring to sessions, and to ask any questions you may have.
This consultation is free of charge.
If we decide to move forward, I will send you a copy of my counselling contract. You are welcome to read through it in your own time, and we will go over it together in our first session.
Our first session might feel like an extension of that initial phone call. You will be able to outline your expectations, and get a feel for who I am.
If you've experienced counselling in the past we can discuss what worked for you and what did not.
I am keen to facilitate whatever space you feel you need in order to be able to talk and process what is troubling you. You are my focus.
