About me and my therapy practice
飧
As an experienced counsellor and mental health practitioner, I offer a warm, compassionate, and person-centred approach to therapy. With many years of experience working across mental health and care settings, I have supported individuals through some of the most challenging periods of their lives, helping them to develop resilience, gain insight, and move towards lasting positive change.
I have a particular interest and expertise in working with anxiety and stress-related difficulties, supporting clients to better understand the underlying causes of their struggles and equipping them with practical strategies to regain a sense of control and emotional wellbeing. Whether anxiety presents through overwhelming worry, panic, burnout, or life transitions, I provide a calm and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences without judgement.
Alongside my counselling practice, my experience as a mental health practitioner has involved working with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health presentations, often during times of crisis or significant vulnerability. This has strengthened my ability to remain calm, empathetic, and responsive while helping clients navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges.
As a mature practitioner, I bring both professional expertise and life experience into my work. I understand that healing takes time and that every person鈥檚 story is unique. My approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and genuine care, with a strong belief in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change.
Above all, I aim to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported. I work collaboratively with each individual, tailoring therapy to their needs and helping them build the confidence and resilience to face life鈥檚 challenges with greater clarity and self- compassion.
Practice description
Choosing to begin therapy can feel like a significant step, and I understand that it often comes at a time when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. My aim is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about whatever is on your mind.
I have extensive experience working as both a counsellor and a mental health practitioner across a range of care settings. This has given me a deep understanding of the emotional challenges people face, particularly when living with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or navigating significant life changes. I also have a strong background in supporting adolescents and young adults, helping them manage the pressures of education, family relationships, identity, and the transition into adulthood.
As a mature practitioner, I bring not only professional knowledge but also life experience, patience, and perspective. I understand that there is no 鈥渙ne size fits all鈥 approach to therapy, so I tailor our work to meet your individual needs and pace. Whether you are seeking short-term support to overcome a specific challenge or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, I will work alongside you with compassion and care.
In our sessions, you can expect me to listen without judgement, challenge gently where appropriate, and support you in developing greater self-awareness and resilience. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you make sense of your experiences, recognise your own strengths, and empower you to make choices that feel right for you.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. I believe that when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted, meaningful change becomes possible. Whatever has brought you to therapy, you will be met with warmth, respect, and a commitment to supporting your personal growth and emotional wellbeing.
