About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Jander. I hold an MA in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling, and I work as an existential psychotherapist.
There are times in life when things no longer feel as they once did. You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, lost, disconnected, or simply unsure about where your life is heading. Perhaps you're facing a significant change, struggling in a relationship, or finding yourself asking questions that don't have easy answers.
Whatever brings you here, you don't have to face it alone.
I offer a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgemental space where we can explore what is happening in your life and what it means for you. Therapy provides an opportunity to pause, reflect, and make sense of experiences that may feel confusing, painful, or difficult to put into words.
Sometimes we seek therapy because something is wrong. Sometimes we come because we sense there could be more to life than simply getting through each day. Often it is a mixture of both.
Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, the patterns that keep repeating, and the questions that feel most important to you. My hope is that through this process you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the choices available to you.
I work with both individuals and couples and have experience supporting people with:
- Anxiety and persistent worry
- Depression and low self-esteem
- Relationship difficulties
- Life transitions and career changes
- Illness and health concerns
- Questions around identity, purpose, and meaning
- Personal growth and self-development
Practice description
No two people experience life in the same way, which is why I believe therapy should be shaped around you rather than fitting you into a particular model or set of techniques.
My work is grounded in existential psychotherapy and informed by an integrative approach. This means that while we may explore your past experiences and relationships, our focus is also on how you are living today, the choices available to you, and what matters most in your life.
I aim to create a space where we can become curious about your experience together. Through exploring the questions, challenges, and uncertainties you face, therapy can open up new ways of understanding yourself and relating to the world around you.
Alongside this exploration, I offer practical support where helpful, so that what we discover together can become something you can draw upon in your day-to-day life.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is not to tell you how to live, but to accompany you as you make sense of your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself, and explore what feels meaningful and possible for you.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting. Finding someone you feel comfortable talking to is an important part of the process.
I offer a complimentary 20-minute video consultation for both individuals and couples. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels right.
Couples Therapy
While our initial consultation can take place online, I generally recommend that ongoing couples therapy happens in person. Being together in the room, the proximity allows us to notice the subtleties of communication, connection, and emotional expression that are often difficult to capture through a screen.
