About me and my therapy practice
Do you have TMJ / Jaw issues? I have a special interest in working with people experiencing severe facial tension.
TMJ Symptoms are not localised to the jaw and include neck pain, tension headaches, migraines, shoulder tension, tight hips and coexist with conditions such as digestive issues and chronic fatigue.
You may have tried mouth-guards, jaw exercises, pain medication and been recommended botox. These may have worked temporarily but you still find yourself dealing with jaw pain, clicking and tension that flares up when you're stressed.
Based on my skills as a psychotherapist, clinical observations and extensive experience as a holistic body worker, I understand the intimate connection between our physical and mental health. Physical manifestations are often expressions of held emotions, old stress patterns and protective responses that no longer serve us.
Approaching pain not as an isolated symptom but as part of a deeper underlying pattern can bring greater understanding when seeking pain relief and well-being.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a variety of approaches depending on the individual needs. I include somatic practices to connect the body's physical signals with the emotional state of the mind. With my support, you can build and develop a somatic awareness which gives the body permission to safely let go of stored tension and change the way you respond to stress.

Practice description
I believe it is important to maintain a regular structure so sessions will be held at the same time and day each week, although some flexibility is offered.
Whether you are looking for short or long term therapy, your aims will be discussed during assessment. We will review our progress regularly to ensure you are getting the right support you need.
My first session
Finding a therapist can be daunting and it is important to find the right one for you.
I offer a complimentary 15 minute introductory call which allows you to ask any questions about the counselling service I provide.
On deciding to work together we will then schedule our first session.
