About me and my therapy practice
My name is Becky and I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor.
I have worked for the past 15 years for an NHS service in various non-clinical (mainly managerial) roles. As such I understand the unique stress and pressure that environment can create. I therefore offer all NHS workers (both clinical and non-clinical) a discounted rate of £35 per hour (normal rate £40 per hour).
Sessions are available either in person in the Pool, Camborne or Redruth area or online for anyone living further afield.
Back in 2020 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, which is what led me to counselling, this means I understand personally how it feels to get that diagnosis, go through treatment and create a new normal on the other side.
I am a quiet, reserved highly introverted person. So if you come to counselling with me you will get someone who truly listens and spends the session focusing on you and your needs. This means I also understand what it’s like to live in a world where you feel you don’t fit in.
In addition to the above I can also help anyone experiencing, anxiety, depression, identity issues, health worries and much more.
I won’t give you advise or tell you what to do, instead I will work with you to help you understand yourself and develop your own solutions.
I am DBS checked, first aid trained and have done Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Please get in touch for further details or to book a session.
Practice description
As an introvert, I listen attentively and give you space to share. I won’t offer advice or direction; instead, I support you in finding what works best for you.
Sessions take place either in person in the Camborne, Redruth, Pool area or online for anyone in other areas of Cornwall or across the UK. Each session last 1 hour. Sessions can be either weekly, fortnights, monthly or one-off - whatever you need.
There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions you have to attend, we will regularly review whether you wish to continue or not.
My first session
I offer 45 minute taster sessions at £25 per hour. This first session is where we get to know each other to see if we will be able to work with each other. It is important that you feel able to work with me as the counsellor/client relationship needs to work in order for counselling to work. You will get a taste of how future sessions will go and get to decide whether you want to book more sessions or not. You don’t have to decide this on the day but are welcome to do so.
