About me and my therapy practice
You might look like you鈥檙e coping on the outside, yet inside feel anxious, overwhelmed, or no longer quite yourself. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem, particularly during times of change such as relationship shifts, menopause, career transitions, or periods of re-evaluating who you are and what you want.
Many of the people I support are used to being capable and reliable, the one others turn to. You may have managed responsibilities and challenges before, but something now feels harder to carry. You might notice growing self-doubt, feel more easily overwhelmed, or sense that you鈥檝e lost confidence in yourself.
In my work, I aim to offer a steady, thoughtful presence where you can speak openly and begin to make sense of what鈥檚 going on beneath the surface. I believe that feeling truly heard and understood can be the starting point for meaningful change. Together, we explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck and gently work towards easing anxiety and self-doubt. Over time, many clients feel calmer, more self-aware, and more connected to who they are, with greater confidence in their decisions and boundaries.
I understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it鈥檚 not always easy to know where to begin. You might wonder whether what you鈥檙e experiencing is 鈥渆nough鈥 to bring. If it feels difficult to carry alone, that鈥檚 reason enough. I offer an initial phone or online consultation so you can decide whether working together feels right for you.
Practice description
My practice is rooted in a person-centred approach, where the therapeutic relationship is central and your experience guides our work. Rather than following a fixed formula, we focus on what matters most to you. For many people, this eases the pressure to have all the answers and allows things to unfold more naturally.
Therapy offers a place where you don鈥檛 have to perform or arrive with solutions. Together, we can make sense of what feels confusing and begin to explore what sits beneath the pressure to cope. I aim to offer a warm, reflective environment built on trust, where you are met as a whole person rather than something to be fixed.
Alongside this relational foundation, I draw on CBT to support present-day challenges such as anxiety, overthinking, and feeling stuck, and Transactional Analysis to explore relational patterns, including how past experiences may still be shaping how you see yourself and respond to others. I use these approaches flexibly, guided by what feels most helpful for you.
The aim isn鈥檛 to fix you, but to support a deeper understanding of yourself so that any changes feel grounded, meaningful, and self-directed. We鈥檒l also check in regularly about how the work is feeling, so therapy stays responsive and aligned with your needs.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you鈥檙e unsure where to begin or how to put things into words. The first session is simply a chance for us to meet at your pace. You don鈥檛 need to prepare anything or have a clear explanation, we can start wherever feels easiest for you.
I鈥檒l gently support you to talk about what鈥檚 been going on and what feels most important right now. There鈥檚 no pressure to share more than you feel ready to, and we can take things slowly.
I鈥檒l also explain how I work and answer any questions, so you know what to expect. You鈥檙e not committing to ongoing therapy by coming along, it鈥檚 an opportunity to see how it feels to talk together.
My aim is that you leave feeling a little more at ease, understood, and clearer about whether this feels like the right next step for you.
