About me and my therapy practice
I offer a grounding, non-judgemental and consistent space where we can explore experiences, emotions and parts of yourself that may feel too painful or difficult to share elsewhere. Through a collaborative process, we work together to deepen your understanding of who you are and how your experiences have shaped you. I believe our struggles do not appear in isolation; they are often rooted in the relationships, experiences and circumstances we have lived through. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can begin to make sense of your experiences together and identify what you might need to move forward.
I work with people from many walks of life struggling with a wide range of difficulties, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, financial, stalking, neglect), trauma, complex trauma, family difficulties, eating disorders, body image, low self-worth, relationship issues, bipolar, bereavement, and personality disorders. I also work with people who are not sure why they are seeking therapy, but are aware that something feels stuck or not quite right.
I have particular experience supporting adults who have experienced abuse, neglect or confusing/unstable relationships during childhood or adolescence; disordered eating; relationship difficulties; addiction and complex trauma.
I have worked across various mental health settings, including the NHS, the charity sector, residential mental health and addiction services, mental health crisis services and community therapy services.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified, ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered psychotherapist and trained at Regent’s University London.
I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches, including psychoanalytic, humanistic and existential-phenomenological, with an emphasis on existential-phenomenological psychotherapy. In the therapy room, I prioritise hearing your lived experience as you live and understand it, while supporting you to develop a deeper relationship with yourself and make new choices that feel true to you.
My way of working is also grounded in a trauma-informed approach to mental health. I have a deep understanding of the impact of various kinds of traumatic experiences and this informs my work with clients.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master of Science in Psychology. I therefore draw on psychotherapeutic, psychological and philosophical principles in my work with clients.
