About me and my therapy practice
I know from experience that clients come to therapy when something isn't working in their lives. Over the years I have supported clients through work-related stress, burnout, anxiety, low self-esteem, perfectionism, depression, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma, family dynamics, life transitions, and a loss of identity and meaning. Whether the challenge is personal or professional, I help clients to develop more effective ways of managing distress and coping in crisis.
I moved from Ireland to build a career in Management Consulting in London. Having worked in the corporate world for many years, I understand the expectation to perform at the highest levels, the pressure of masking emotion to ‘hold it all together’, the weight of imposter syndrome and the tendency to over-extend in an effort to prove one’s value or worth. Many of the professionals that I work with are highly capable and successful on the outside, yet privately struggle. I provide a tailored therapeutic approach to reduce this inner conflict and its impact on performance, relationships and wellbeing.
I offer a non-judgemental, encouraging and empathic environment where you can work through difficult life events, discuss how you are feeling, explore relationship dynamics and challenge unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns. Most importantly my priority is to make you feel truly heard and supported as we navigate your concerns together.
Practice description
In addition to being a therapist, I am a qualified Executive Coach. This dual qualification enables me to help clients identify the deeper emotional patterns that influence how they show up at work, while also supporting them to navigate practical workplace challenges, leadership demands and career decisions. I believe in my clients’ innate resilience and capacity for growth and I help them understand the origins and purpose of these patterns and how to move beyond the limitations they create.
I have supported clients to build confidence and increase visibility for career progression. I partner with clients to identify unhelpful coping mechanisms from childhood that a difficult work or personal situation can activate. When clients have experienced a loss of meaning I have helped strengthen their sense of self beyond their role and explored ways to redress the balance between professional demands and personal fulfilment.
I also understand not every client needs deep work or wants to focus on the past or their personal history. Particularly if they have had therapy to process these issues before. In these situations, I use a Time Limited therapeutic approach and work with them by focussing on their present stressors and towards practical coping strategies and specific goals.
I use a range of therapeutic and coaching tools to meet your unique needs and offer both short and long-term therapy. I will meet you exactly where you are and provide the insight and clarity to enable you to make decisions more aligned with your desired outcomes. In doing so, I will support you to make meaningful and sustainable change in the areas of your life that are most important to you.
My first session
The initial session is really a simple conversation to understand more about you, why you are seeking therapy at this point in time and what you would like to gain or achieve as a result.
