About me and my therapy practice
Whether you’re making sense of your past, navigating challenges in the present, or feeling uncertain about what lies ahead, you don’t have to go through it on your own. I’m a member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø and an integrative, person-centred counsellor working with people over 18 online and face to face.
At times, it can feel difficult to share what you’re experiencing with the people close to you. You may worry about being judged, misunderstood, or feel uncomfortable talking about things that feel personal or hard to explain. Sometimes you may have a clear sense of what is troubling you, while at other times you may simply feel that something doesn’t feel right, without knowing exactly why. Reaching out for counselling is a brave and meaningful step, and I truly value the opportunity to walk alongside people during this time.
Practice description
I work in a way that’s guided by you, at your pace. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, adapting them to suit your individual needs as they emerge. Our sessions may focus on how your past can shape and influence your current behaviours and experiences. I also place importance on psychoeducation, offering insight and strategies to support your emotional and psychological needs. I hope you will leave sessions feeling listened to, and with a deeper understanding of yourself and (if needed) equipped with practical tools to support you in your day-to-day life. As a trauma-informed counsellor, I work in a way that respects your experiences and ensures you feel safe and supported.
The aim of therapy isn't to fix, instead I see it as developing a different relationship with the issue—one that, over time, allows it to feel less overwhelming and less in control of your life. Therapy isn't about someone else giving you the answers. It's a collaborative process that helps you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with curiosity and compassion.
My first session
Free call prior to first session; I welcome the opportunity to learn about each client before our sessions and would be grateful to receive any information you feel comfortable sharing. If you’re ready to take the step to have counselling or if you want to find out more about the process then I offer a free 20 minute call. I will also ask you some questions about what brings you to counselling and assess for suitability in the possible work together.
First Session; During our first session we will go over the contract to make sure we both have a good understanding of working together. I believe this is key is providing the foundation to the work. As part of your first session, you'll complete the CORE questionnaire. It's a simple tool that helps me gain a clearer picture of your current wellbeing and can be used to review how things change over the course of counselling.
