About me and my therapy practice

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by your emotions or reactions, and unsure why you respond the way you do?

You might find yourself overthinking, feeling on edge, or reacting in ways you later regret , whether in your relationships, your parenting, or within yourself. It can feel confusing, frustrating, and at times isolating.

I support people who feel emotionally overwhelmed or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Together, we work to make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, helping you feel calmer, more in control, and more connected to yourself and others.

I work in an integrative way, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), and Person-Centred Therapy. This allows me to tailor sessions to your individual needs, whether that involves exploring past experiences, understanding patterns, developing coping strategies, or improving emotional awareness and communication.

I work collaboratively, supporting self-awareness, personal insight, and emotional growth. I have experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem, and personal development, as well as supporting autistic individuals with sensitivity to their unique needs.

Alongside my counselling training, I bring over 20 years’ experience in education. This has given me a strong understanding of emotional development, stress, identity, and the impact of long-term pressure. I also have particular insight into supporting teachers and school staff with stress, burnout, boundaries, and wellbeing.

As a bilingual therapist (English and Arabic) with a multicultural background, I offer a culturally sensitive and inclusive space. As a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø member, I am committed to ethical and professional practice.

Practice description

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel heard. At the same time, I work in a way that gently helps you build awareness and understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and responses.

Rather than just coping with what’s difficult, we explore where these patterns come from and how they show up in your life today. This can help you begin to respond differently, with more clarity, choice, and self-compassion.

Clients can expect a supportive environment that encourages reflection, self-discovery, and positive change at a pace that feels comfortable.

Sessions are client-focused, giving you the time and space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I aim to help clients develop practical tools to manage life’s challenges, build resilience, and improve wellbeing.

I also understand the importance of accessibility and inclusivity. My practice is open to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and those who may prefer to work in English or Arabic. I strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and understood, with particular care for clients on the autism spectrum.

Being part of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø ensures my practice meets high professional and ethical standards, giving clients confidence that therapy is delivered safely, confidentially, and with empathy.

Clients often come to me when they are experiencing:

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained

Overthinking or struggling to switch off

Reacting in ways they don’t fully understand

Difficulties in relationships or parenting

Low mood, self-doubt, or feeling “not good enoughâ€

Wanting to understand themselves on a deeper level.

I offer a culturally sensitive and inclusive space, and I understand that our backgrounds, identities, and experiences can shape how we feel and relate to the world.

With a background in education, I also understand the pressures of high-responsibility roles, stress, and emotional demands, whether in work, family life, or both.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.

If something in this resonates with you, you’re welcome to get in touch for an initial conversation to see if we might be a good fit.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any concerns or challenges you would like to work on. This helps me understand your needs and ensures we start in a way that feels comfortable and tailored to you.

I will also ask you to complete a brief initial assessment form. This is simply to gather background information and help us set clear goals together. It’s also a useful way for you to reflect on what you want from therapy before we begin.

During this session, you are welcome to ask any questions about how I work, confidentiality, session structure, and practical arrangements. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported from the very beginning.

The first session is included at the standard rate, and there is no pressure to continue if you feel it is not the right fit. I want you to leave the session feeling informed, reassured, and confident about the journey ahead.
