About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Therapeutic Counselling Diploma. I’ve worked across a range of mental health settings, supporting people through many different stages and challenges in life.
What truly matters to me is creating a space where you feel safe, accepted, and able to be yourself. I bring warmth, empathy, and genuine care into our work together, and I value the trust that comes with allowing me into your world.
Practice description
My counselling style is gentle, human, and centred around you.
I believe that we all have an inner drive toward growth and that with the right support, clarity and confidence can begin to emerge. In our sessions, you can expect a calm, non-judgemental environment where your feelings, your pace, and your experiences lead the way.
Drawing on my background in mental health, I offer both emotional support and practical understanding to help you make sense of what you’re going through.
You can expect sessions that feel supportive, grounded, and centred around you as a whole person. Talking about how you’re feeling can be difficult, and I want to make sure you get the most from our sessions and that they feel meaningful to you. I will regularly check in with you about how the process is going, ensuring our work continues to feel supportive, helpful, and aligned with what you need.
Together, we’ll make space for your feelings, uncover patterns, and develop tools that help you move toward steadier, more fulfilling ways of living.
I am based within a mental health service in Westhaughton, Bolton, where I provide face-to face sessions weekdays, and provide both online and telephone sessions. To find out more about my availability and how this can work for you please call or send an email.
My first session
To make sure that the sessions feel right for you, it is important you have the space to share what has brought you to counselling. Your first session will involve discussing your reasons for seeking support, exploring any challenges you are currently facing, and identifying what you hope to gain from counselling. We will also talk about your background, any relevant experiences, and what is important to you at this stage of your life.
This initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and there is no expectation to talk about anything before you are ready. We will also discuss how counselling works, confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have, helping you decide whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for you.
