About me and my therapy practice
I'm Jacqui, a warm and welcoming psychotherapist, who has experience supporting adults through a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, self-doubt, low mood, trauma, grief, relationship or work difficulties, or a general sense of feeling stuck. Many of us carry feelings or experiences that don’t simply fade with time and talking with someone outside your day-to-day life - someone who listens carefully and without judgment - can help you make sense of thoughts and emotions that feel confusing or overwhelming.
I offer a safe, confidential space where we will work together to explore how past experiences may be affecting you now, understand patterns that feel hard to change, and find new ways of thinking, feeling, and coping. For many people, simply feeling heard and understood can begin to bring relief.
I have a Masters degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London. Alongside my private practice, I work as a therapist for a mental health charity. My clinical experience includes working in two services that support people experiencing suicidal thoughts, where I developed a strong understanding of complex emotional distress and crisis.
I have worked with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances, and I welcome diversity in all its forms in my practice. I am committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and thoughtful therapeutic space where each person’s experiences and identity are valued.
Practice description
I specialise in psychodynamic therapy which focuses not just on what’s happening right now, but on how past experiences and early relationships shape how we feel, behave and relate to others in the present.
We will work together at a pace that feels right for you, to help you understand yourself more fully, uncover deeper patterns that do not serve you and heal from painful experiences. This process often brings about lasting change, leaving you feeling more secure, confident and in control of your life.
Sessions are weekly and last fifty minutes. I offer both short-term and open-ended work from my consulting room in West Hampstead, NW6. You don’t need to come prepared - we can talk about whatever feels important at the time and we follow what unfolds.
Finding the right therapist for you is the first step towards successful therapy – contact me to arrange a free telephone consultation where you can ask questions and see how we can work together. You can call or text me on 07405847689 or email via the site.
My first session
I offer an initial free call, which you can arrange by text or email , to answer questions you may have and discuss how we can work together.
After that, our first session will be an assessment to explore what brings you to therapy and to see if we are a good fit to work together. You will have a chance to ask any further questions you might have about therapy.
Finding the right therapist for you is important. The free consultation and initial session will help you decide if you want to go ahead and work together.
