About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Katie — a fully qualified integrative counsellor working with adults, children and young people in Dartford and online.

You’ve already done the hardest part. Looking for support takes courage, and the fact that you’re here matters. Whatever has brought you to this moment — whether life feels heavy, confusing, or like something just isn’t right — you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I came to counselling through my own experience of mental health struggles, at a time when I felt unsupported and unable to make sense of what I was feeling. That experience changed my life, and it’s what drives my passion for helping others feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment.

Practice description

So, what is integrative counselling?

It means I’m trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, and rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor the way I work to suit you as an individual. Because every person is different, and your therapy should reflect that.

Before we begin, I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation — no commitment, just a conversation. It’s a chance to ask questions, get a feel for how working together might be, and decide if I’m the right fit for you. That relationship is everything; therapy works best when there’s real trust at its heart.

My first session

What I can help with includes:

Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, sexual abuse, self-harm, and suicidal ideation — but whatever you bring to the room is valid, and we’ll navigate it together. I won’t tell you what to do or hand you a list of answers. Instead, I’ll support you in making sense of your thoughts and feelings and help you find your own way through.

My aim is to work alongside you for as long as you need — helping you build the understanding and tools to carry forward into everyday life, so that over time, you feel able to live more fully and freely.

A few practical things:

• Sessions are available face-to-face in Central Dartford for adults, children, and young people

• Online sessions are available nationwide for adults and young people

• I offer both short-term (typically 6–12 weeks) and long-term contracts

• I am a member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, hold an enhanced DBS, professional indemnity insurance, and am registered with the ICO for data protection
