About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Lauren, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in South West London, working with adults 18+ both in person and online, offering a supportive and confidential space to explore whatever may be bringing you to therapy.
I work with individuals often experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression, relationship difficulties, fertility-related concerns, and those struggling to navigate life transitions whether that be; Starting university, changing career, getting married or separation, parenthood, bereavement, loss and grief, illness, midlife, fertility challenges or retirement.
Clients often come to therapy with a strong sense of responsibility and self-expectation, yet feel overwhelmed, emotionally fatigued, or uncertain about how to move forward. This may include difficulties in establishing boundaries, recurring relational patterns, or a sense of disconnection from self.
I offer a warm, supportive and confidential space where you can feel at ease to be yourself, just as you are, without pressure or expectation.
Practice description
How I Work
I offer a collaborative and supportive approach to therapy, working alongside you to explore your experiences at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable. I see therapy as a shared process, where we can gently make sense of what may be happening for you, while creating space for reflection, insight, and change.
My work is grounded in building a safe, confidential and non-judgemental relationship, where you can feel at ease to speak openly. I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and respected, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences more deeply.
Together, we may look at how past experiences, relationships, and wider influences have shaped your current patterns, while also focusing on what is happening for you in the present. I support individuals in reconnecting with themselves, developing greater self-awareness, and finding ways of moving forward that feel more balanced and authentic.
I work integratively, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual needs. Whether you are seeking support with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or life transitions, I will adapt the way we work together to best support you.
My first session
In our first session, we will complete an initial assessment together. This may sound a little daunting, but I will guide you through it with care, and we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you, with space to pause or take breaks whenever needed.
Rather than a formal process, the assessment is a collaborative conversation, held in strict confidence and in line with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework. We will explore what has brought you to therapy, your hopes and expectations, and any goals you may have. We will also complete some background information, such as general personal details, relevant medical history, and a brief risk assessment, to help me understand how best to support you.
This is the beginning of our therapeutic relationship—a space where you can start to share your concerns, hopes, and questions, while I gain a deeper understanding of where you are and what you may need from therapy.
If you feel comfortable to continue, we can arrange ongoing sessions. If you decide that you would prefer to work with someone else, or that therapy isn’t right for you at this time, we can also take time to consider what might feel most helpful for you moving forward.
