About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Jane, a qualified counsellor offering a reflective, safe space where you can take time to talk through what’s on your mind, without pressure or judgement. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling, which I completed with distinction.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or finding certain patterns in your life difficult to understand or change. You may also be supporting others and have little space for yourself. Whatever brings you here, I will work alongside you at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your individual experience.
My way of working is relational and reflective. I pay attention not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to how earlier experiences may be shaping your current thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Together, we can begin to make sense of these connections, helping you to feel more grounded and better able to respond to life’s challenges.
Alongside my work with adults, I am also trained in working therapeutically with children, including the use of play and creative approaches to support expression and emotional development.
Working with children
When working with children, I offer play therapy, which allows them to express thoughts and feelings in a way that feels natural and safe. Children do not always have the words to explain what they are going through, and play can be a powerful way for them to communicate and process their experiences.
I provide a consistent, supportive environment where children can explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping.
Practice description
I offer a confidential and supportive setting where you can talk openly and be met with care and understanding.
Therapy with me is not about being given advice or quick solutions, but about creating space to reflect, explore, and gradually build a clearer understanding of yourself. This might include noticing patterns in relationships, exploring emotional responses, or working through past experiences that continue to have an impact.
Over time, this process can support greater self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of direction.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy.
We can talk about what you would like support with, any expectations or concerns you may have, and how I work. It’s also a chance for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me, as the relationship between therapist and client is an important part of the process.
