About me and my therapy practice
It is exhausting to live with a constant internal critic or the pressure to keep up when you feel like a mess inside. If you are navigating anxiety, depression or just struggling to meet the demands of life I offer a space to slow down, hear yourself think and allow yourself to just be.
I am a person-centred counsellor working with adults (18+) outdoors in Clowes Wood, on the outskirts of Birmingham and Solihull, as well as both outdoors and in-room session in Kings Heath. I also offer remote nature-based sessions and traditional online sessions nationwide.
Nature as Part of the Process
Our sessions take place within a private area of the woods. In this setting, the woodland is more than just a location; it is an integral part of the therapeutic process that helps us to bring about a deeper connection to your own internal experience. We work outside across the seasons, allowing the changing landscape to support and reflect your own process of change.
A Neuro-Affirming Space
My practice is neurodiversity friendly. Having lived experience of ADHD, I provide a low-pressure environment where you are welcome to be muddled, to move, or to drop the mask you carry in daily life. Whether you are navigating the specific challenges of neurodiversity or feel stuck in a cycle of overwhelm, this is a space where you are understood without having to perform.
The Therapeutic Relationship
My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience - my job is to provide the support needed for you to discover a way forwards and a way of being in the world that is right for you.
Many of my clients find that by slowing down in this environment, gently beginning to untangle their troubles, they begin to 'wake up' to a gentler way of being - relating to themselves with more patience and kindness, even when life is difficult.
Practice description
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered counsellor (MÌÇÐĹÙÍø) with a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling.
My professional background includes:
- Addiction & Recovery: Several years working in addiction services and gambling rehabilitation.
- Neurodiversity: Lived experience of ADHD, professional experience in working with autism and currently undertaking further specialist ADHD training.
- General Counselling: Experience working in community counselling settings with adults navigating a wide range of life difficulties.
- Environment & Nature: A Level 3 Certificate in Countryside Management and Environmental Studies, following a period of working in the nature conservation sector.
I work with adults (18+) and have a specific interest in neurodivergent experiences and shame. My background in conservation and environmental studies informs my choice to work outdoors, while my experience in addiction services allows me to sit with complex and difficult life situations.
Because I have lived experience of ADHD, I provide a space where you do not need to explain the mechanics of your neurodivergence. We focus instead on your current experience and how you feel.

Choosing a therapist is an important part of the process, and it is essential that you find someone who feels like the right fit for you. If my way of working sounds like it might be helpful, I am happy to have a brief, informal conversation to see how we might work together in the woods.
Whether you decide to move forward now or later, I wish you well in finding the support that feels right for you.
