Availability
Sessions are 50 minutes long, with availability during weekdays, including some evenings.
You do not need to have a clear explanation for why things feel difficult. Often counselling begins with a feeling that something is not quite right, or that the ways you have been coping are no longer working.
I believe people often lose connection with themselves while coping with life's demands. My purpose is to help people feel heard, understood and accepted, so they can explore their experiences, develop greater self-awareness and create meaningful change.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m Vipanan, and I offer face to face (Aberdeen, Scotland) and online therapy for adults and young adults across the UK.
Sometimes life can feel like a lot to carry.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or finding it difficult to make sense of what is happening. You might notice yourself overthinking, replaying conversations, doubting your decisions, or feeling disconnected from yourself and what you need.
Many people I work with are used to managing things on the outside while carrying a lot internally.
Counselling offers a confidential and supportive space to slow things down, understand what is happening, and explore what might help.

- Anxiety and overthinking
- Feeling overwhelmed or stuck
- Burnout and emotional exhaustion
- Low self-esteem and self-doubt
- Difficulty setting boundaries

Practice description
What to expect
For many people, the change is not about becoming someone different. It is about feeling more connected to yourself, trusting yourself more, and feeling less weighed down by patterns that no longer serve you.
Over time, you may begin to notice:
- A clearer understanding of your needs, values, and what feels right for you
- Less overthinking and internal pressure
- Greater confidence in your own choices and decisions
- Healthier boundaries with less guilt
- More self-compassion and less self-criticism
- A greater sense of calm, connection, and emotional steadiness
Experience
I have many years of experience working with adults in a counselling setting, including 7 years with Aberdeen Counselling and Information Services (ACIS).
I hold a Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. My training is grounded in person-centred therapy, with additional influences from CBT, psychodynamic, somatic and body-mind approaches, allowing me to work flexibly and responsively.
My first session
In our first full session, we take time to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with, and what has or has not helped in the past.
We work together in a way that is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to you.
I will listen carefully to what you would like from counselling, and together we can explore your experiences, emotions, patterns, and challenges at a pace that feels manageable.
Depending on what you need, we may focus on understanding your thoughts and feelings, developing practical ways to cope, or exploring deeper patterns and experiences that may be affecting you.
We may also explore areas of life that can influence how you are feeling, including rest, energy levels, daily routines, nutrition, relationships, and sources of support. These are not about finding things to fix, but about understanding your experience as a whole and exploring what helps you feel more steady, supported, and connected.
My aim is to help you develop greater self-understanding, self-trust, and emotional wellbeing, while making sure the work feels relevant and useful to you.
How many sessions do I need?
Most people begin with weekly or fortnightly sessions.
Over time, as you become more familiar with your experiences, patterns, and responses, sessions can move towards a more flexible, as-needed basis.
The pace and length of therapy will depend on what feels helpful for you.
Fees
£55 per 50-minute session.
