About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Carolina. I'm a bilingual MÌÇÐĹÙÍø Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with adults online across the UK and face-to-face in Leeds. I offer sessions in both English and Spanish, providing a culturally sensitive and inclusive space for people from diverse backgrounds.
Maybe you've been feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed for a while. Maybe life has shifted in ways you didn't expect, and you're struggling to find your footing. Or perhaps you're not sure exactly what you need — you just know something doesn't feel right. Whatever has brought you here, you don't need a diagnosis or a clear goal to begin. I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgmental space where we can explore what's going on for you, at your own pace.
Who I work with
I support adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety and worry, low mood and depression, stress and feeling overwhelmed, low self-esteem and self-criticism, relationship difficulties, emotional abuse and attachment difficulties, self-harm, and periods of change that have left you feeling lost, stuck, or unlike yourself.
I have a particular interest in life transitions — the moments when life shifts beneath your feet and you find yourself somewhere between who you were and who you're becoming. This might be migration and adjusting to a new country or culture, becoming a parent, midlife questioning, changes in friendships and identity, or simply a quiet sense that you no longer recognise yourself.
Having lived and worked across different countries and cultures myself, I bring both personal and professional insight into the emotional complexities of identity, belonging, and change. I understand firsthand what it means to carry multiple identities and navigate life between different worlds.
I also work with parents balancing the demands of raising children while adapting to a new culture — holding multiple roles and identities at once, often with very little space for themselves.
Practice description
My approach is integrative and client-centred, drawing on a range of evidence-based models, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to your individual needs and pace. I do not apply a fixed method to everyone.
Instead, I work collaboratively with you to shape therapy around what feels most helpful.
I believe a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is where meaningful change begins. You are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer a warm, consistent, and non-judgmental presence — a space where you can think freely, explore honestly, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Together we can explore patterns, deepen self-awareness, build resilience, and support you in moving forward with greater clarity and self-understanding.
I work at Battle Scars, where I have built over two years of experience supporting individuals affected by self-harm. This work has deepened my understanding of the impact self-harm can have — not only on the person themselves, but also on their loved ones. It has reinforced my belief that compassionate, holistic support is essential — one that considers the broader picture, not just isolated experiences.
I worked as a counsellor at York St John Community Centre, where I supported clients presenting with anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, emotional abuse, attachment trauma, self-harm, and perfectionism.
