About me and my therapy practice
Wondering what is holding you back from moving forward? Feeling lost and confused? Low or anxious?
My name is Sara and I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø registered Counsellor. I work with people going through different challenges in life such as loss, redundancy, divorce, depression and menopause amongst other things.
As many of you, I have also had my fair share of life’s trials with parent loss, relocating to different country, becoming a parent myself, going through divorce and searching for meaning and purpose to keep showing up every day.
Having a space to put words on the feelings inside and to be heard with acceptance and validation has been something that has been life-changing for me. And what eventually set me off on the journey of training to be able to offer the same space to other people.
I practice through a lens of mindfulness and developing awareness of what is happening for you within moment to moment. This then becomes a way to be there for yourself whatever life brings.
I also practice with a sense of hope and trust in that whatever you are going through has a silver lining. You are growing and becoming more of yourself, wiser and more experienced in how to make the most of this precious life. Not despite of the challenges, but because of them. Not aside from the suffering but precisely the reason why they arrived in your life in the first place.
If you’d like support, I offer a gentle space to explore this together.
If this resonates, I invite you to book a 30-min call to connect and meet.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that you are an expert in your own life.
As a Psychosynthesis practitioner I hold that we are navigating a journey towards wholeness and coming home to yourself.
This often comes through developing the sense of awareness of what is unfolding for you, moment to moment which is why the practices of Mindfulness can be very helpful.
Through being present to what is stirring within you, a new sense of knowing is allowed to emerge, guiding you onwards.
Practice description
In our sessions we explore your life in a creative way, allowing intuition, symbols and archetypes to guide us deeper into healing and reflection. Storytelling, painting and visualisation techniques can be powerful allies, supporting us to befriend and listen to untold tales within.
I specialise in Psychological and Soul growth Astrology. Both C. G. Jung as well as the founder of Psychosynthesis, R. Assagioli used their client’s unique birth charts, based on the moment of birth, to further gain understanding of their inner archetypal world.
Similarly, if you are curious, we can use your birth chart to help navigate your current challenges.
You might also choose to work with me for the following reasons:
- Having moved to the UK from a different culture
- Enjoy the Outdoors and being in Nature
- Wishing to engage your Creative and Intuitive self
I work with grief, loss, anxiety, depression, purpose finding, work and relationship transitions.
About me
From as early as my teens I remember wishing to become a therapist. The vision of a sacred space to listen to my fellow life-travellers floated somewhere in my consciousness, in which to reflect on the mystery of living.
In my early 20’s I moved from Sweden, where I grew up, to the UK in search of adventure and following what I would later come to define as a soul calling. A strange pull through stories, music and landscape was becoming too strong to ignore. Eventually, finding my way to the wild west of Cornwall I feel in love with the ancient Celtic landscape and put down roots.
I have always been engaged in stories, nature, art-making and self-reflection, often with the aid of astrology. I hope to bring these resources to the healing journey to support our work together.
My first session
Our first session will be one of me getting an overview of your life, the main events of your life as well as what brings you to therapy now. This will probably include more questions than subsequent sessions. From here we can a better understanding of what would be most helpful for you at this point.
As a Psychosynthesis therapist my practice is based on holding a safe space in which you can reflect on what is coming up for you. Through attentive listening I can offer a gentle environment in which you might bring awareness and compassion to your experience.
