Hello, I’m Lucy, I’m an integrative counsellor and I offer accessible therapy at flexible times to suit you.
My role as a counsellor is not to fix you or tell you what to do, but to listen with compassion, support you with empathy, and help you discover your own strengths and direction. Whatever brings you to counselling, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
I have experience working in the public and charity sectors, where I’ve supported individuals from all different backgrounds in navigating life’s challenges. I also currently volunteer as a counsellor for a local community interest company and believe that everyone deserves to be supported and heard no matter their circumstances.
Integrative therapy means I can use a blend of techniques to suit individual needs. My core model is person centred which is a non-directive approach. This means that I will work collaboratively with you to support and guide rather than trying to fix. I also hold training in psychodynamic theory, where our childhood experiences impact our present and cognitive behavioural therapy where tools and techniques can be helpful in addressing patterns of behaviour.
Practice description
I have experience in dealing with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, low self esteem, family issues, depression, bereavement, trauma and loss. I have also supported clients through the challenges that menopause can bring. I have a particular interest in relationships, both the ones we build with others and the one we hold with ourselves. Therapy can help you to make sense of your experiences and develop healthier ways of relating.
In our sessions, I will treat you with kindness, always being led by what is right for you.
My qualifications include, Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, ÌÇÐĹÙÍø approved and training in safeguarding, mental health and trauma from the workplace. I regularly invest in my professional development and have recently attended sessions on working with Shame and Disorganised Attachment by Carolyn Spring.
I am currently offering remote appointments by video and telephone and have availability evenings and weekends. Please do reach out for a free initial chat and we can take it from there.
