About me and my therapy practice
Hello,
My name is Gifty Addo, and I am an integrative and creative therapist. I provide a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space for children, young people, and adults.
My therapeutic approach is flexible and tailored to each individual. I utilise a range of methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic approaches, and creative techniques such as play, art, and mindfulness. My goal is to meet clients where they are and support them at their own pace.
I have experience addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation, and suicidal thoughts. Additionally, I work with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and other additional needs, always with a respectful, strengths-based, and person-centred focus.
I prioritise safety and well-being by working in a safe, ethical, and trauma-informed manner. I value collaboration when appropriate, which includes working alongside families and other professionals. Throughout my experience in schools, community settings, and therapeutic services, I have found that this collaborative approach enriches the therapeutic process.
Practice description
Sessions are held online in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment. Each session typically lasts 50 minutes and provides a dedicated space for you to talk openly about what is on your mind.
In our sessions, you can expect to be listened to with empathy and without judgment. We will work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you. Some sessions may involve talking through thoughts and feelings, while others may include gentle guidance, practical strategies, or creative techniques, depending on your needs.
Your first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other, explore what has brought you to therapy, and discuss what you would like to gain from the process. You are free to ask any questions, and there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
Ongoing sessions will focus on helping you understand yourself more deeply, manage challenges, and work towards positive change. The process is collaborative, and your voice remains central throughout.
Sessions are offered online, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
