About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Dhruv, a Counselling Psychologist-in-training and a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered Integrative Counsellor offering online therapy across the UK.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, grief, low self-esteem, or a sense that life is no longer feeling quite right. You may be facing a major life transition, questioning who you are, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you.

I offer a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where we can explore these experiences together. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but to help you make sense of your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and find ways of moving forward that feel authentic to you.

Alongside my clinical work, I am completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I have experience working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds, including those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, ADHD, autism, grief, workplace stress, and complex emotional challenges.

I have a particular interest in working with people from ethnic minority backgrounds, especially those navigating questions of culture, identity, belonging, family expectations, and authenticity. As someone who has lived across different cultures, I understand how these experiences can shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and our place in the world.

Before training as a psychologist, I spent several years working in business and leadership roles. This experience gives me a grounded understanding of the pressures of work, achievement, burnout, and major life transitions.

Above all, I aim to create a space where you feel heard, accepted, and able to bring all parts of yourself into the conversation.

Practice description

My approach is collaborative, relational, and tailored to you as an individual. My therapeutic styles draws from humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, relational and trauma-informed ways of working.

I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood and able to explore their experiences without judgement. Rather than following a rigid formula, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, personality, and goals.

Together, we may explore current challenges, recurring patterns in relationships, difficult emotions, past experiences, or questions about identity, meaning, and direction in life. Some clients come wanting support with a specific problem, while others use therapy as a space for deeper personal growth and self-understanding.

My style is warm, thoughtful, and engaged. I aim to offer both support and gentle challenge, helping you better understand yourself and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
