About me and my therapy practice
I believe that everyone, no matter their race, religion, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic background, age, differing abilities, or neurotype, deserves to feel heard, seen, listened to and understood. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring issues and can build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
My training encompasses humanistic, person-centred therapy, as well as elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. I'm experienced in helping clients work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions.
I have recently completed a Level 3 qualification in Understanding Autism and have been extensively researching ADHD. There is a higher occurrence of anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions in neurodivergent communities, which can often be related to navigating a society that isn't built to support the way your brain works and can hinder your ability to reach your full potential and live a healthy, fulfilling life. I'm passionate about supporting you in understanding your unique strengths whilst developing strategies that work with, rather than against, your natural way of being.
Together, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours collaboratively, increasing self-awareness and developing effective coping strategies. I'm committed to working at your pace, validating your experiences, and empowering you throughout your therapeutic journey
Practice description
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor who draws on various theories to tailor my approach to best support your unique needs and preferences.
I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your concerns. My priorities are to help you feel understood and supported, safe and heard, as we work together at a pace that feels best for you.
My first session
I offer a free initial 15-minute consultation, which is an opportunity for us to start getting to know each other and explore what has brought you to therapy. This informal conversation gives us a safe space to ask questions and find out whether my approach feels like the right one for you. If we agree to work together then we can make arrangements for further sessions, which are usually 50 minutes and weekly, but we will collaborate on what works best for both of us.
