About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Lucy.

I believe every person deserves to be heard, understood, and supported without judgement. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experience at your own pace.

My own life experiences have shaped the therapist I am today. I live with cerebral palsy, which has given me a deep appreciation of resilience, perseverance and the importance of being truly seen as an individual rather than defined by circumstances. I have also experienced and overcome depression, giving me personal insight into the challenges that emotional distress can bring and the hope that recovery is possible.

Alongside my personal experience, I have supported individuals living with a range of mental health difficulties, including bipolar disorder. These experiences have strengthened my ability to work with empathy, patience and understanding while recognising that every person's journey is unique.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we will work together to help you gain greater understanding, develop healthier coping strategies, and move towards lasting emotional wellbeing.

I believe therapy is about building a trusting relationship where you feel listened to, respected and empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes in your life.

I am a Person Centred Therapist that believes everyone has the power within themselves to solve whatever problem they face; however sometimes we all need some support and that is why my practice is here to be the support centre my clients need in order to feel empowered with the adequate tools to overcome obstacles and challenges.

Practice description

Are you suffering from a sudden crisis, long-term difficulty or a sense of being overwhelmed by life unpredictability?

My practice provides a confidential, supportive environment where clients can feel safe to explore life's challenges.

I work collaboratively with each client, recognising that no two people are the same.

Therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals, helping you build resilience, improve emotional wellbeing, and create meaningful change.

My aim is not simply to help you cope, but to help you understand yourself more deeply and develop the confidence to move forward with greater clarity and self-compassion.

No matter the reason why you may be seeking counselling, my practice can offer a safe non judgemental place when you can investigate yourself.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another.

We'll talk about what has brought you to therapy, your personal history, and what you hope to achieve. You are welcome to ask any questions about the therapy process, and there is no pressure to share more that you feel comfortable with.

Together, we will begin developing a plan that feels right for you and your individual needs.

My first session will be a 30 minute free phone call; where we can discuss what you hope to get out of therapy and any questions you may have for me; with no obligation to book further sessions. This is hopefully to help you decide if I am the right fit for you.
