About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, people‑centred counsellor who believes deeply in the importance of being truly seen and heard. I work with children, young people (CYP), and adults, and I value the different ways each age group experiences and expresses their world. Supporting younger people through the challenges of growing up, alongside adults navigating life’s complexities, has strengthened my belief that everyone deserves a safe, steady space to make sense of what they’re feeling.
My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a genuine respect for each person’s story. I focus on building trusting relationships where clients can explore at their own pace, without pressure or judgement. Humanistic counselling aligns with my belief that real change happens through connection, collaboration, and being met with compassion.
Outside of my therapy work, I try to create new chapters in my own life too. I find balance and joy in mountain biking, dog walking, and spending time outdoors, making the most of each day in a way that keeps me grounded and present.
My aim is simple: to offer a calm, consistent space where you can explore, heal, and reconnect with your inner strength.
Practice description
I have experience working with both children and young people (CYP) and adults.
Working across these different life stages has strengthened my understanding of how unique each person’s journey is, and how important it is to offer a space where they can feel safe, understood, and supported.
As a counsellor, I aspire to create a space where clients of all ages feel truly heard, accepted, and able to explore their experiences at their own pace. My aim is to help individuals reconnect with their strengths, understand themselves more deeply, and find clarity in moments that feel uncertain.
My professional background is rooted in pastoral care, mentoring, and relational support. I have spent many years providing one‑to‑one support, building meaningful, trusting relationships, and guiding both CYP and adults through moments of difficulty, self‑doubt, and transition.
Throughout my career, my purpose has remained constant: to help people believe in themselves, recognise their potential, and feel empowered to move forward with confidence.
My first session
Before starting therapy, I offer a free 15‑minute introductory call. This relaxed, no‑obligation conversation gives us both a chance to get a sense of one another, talk about what you’re looking for, and decide whether working together feels like a good fit.
In our first full session, we will gently explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain, and any questions or concerns you may have. I won’t rush you or expect you to share more than feels comfortable. Instead, I aim to create a steady, supportive environment where you can begin to feel grounded and understood. I may ask a few initial questions to help me understand your background and what support might be most helpful, but the session will unfold at your pace.
I work to the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Code of Ethics and maintain my professional development through regular one to one supervision and group supervision on a monthly basis.
