About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Adrianna, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Edinburgh. I offer talking therapy to support individuals in navigating life’s challenges and working towards meaningful, lasting change.

I hold a BA in Psychology and Dance, an MSc in Psychological Research (specialising in Social Psychology), and a Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork. My background in both research and practice allows me to combine evidence-based approaches with a warm, person-centred style.

I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and have experience supporting clients with anxiety, low mood, stress, self-esteem difficulties, and life transitions.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual. I believe that every person’s experience is unique, and I aim to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop practical coping strategies, and build resilience.

Practice description

In my practice, I offer structured, goal-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) designed to support meaningful and lasting change. Sessions are 50 minutes and delivered online.

My approach is practical and structured. I often set between-session tasks or exercises, as applying what we discuss in real life is a key part of CBT and helps build new habits over time. My aim is to support you in developing practical tools and strategies that you can continue using long after therapy ends—helping you become your own therapist when future challenges arise.

I strive to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel heard and encouraged. Alongside this, I also believe in being honest and direct when it is helpful for your progress. At times, this may involve gently highlighting patterns or behaviours that may be keeping you stuck. While this can feel challenging, I see it as an important and often powerful part of the therapeutic process.

We will regularly check in on progress, alongside the questionnaires we use, to ensure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with your goals.

My first session

Before we begin working together, we will start with a free initial consultation over the phone, lasting around 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for you to share what you would like to work on and talk through your current challenges. This is also an opoportunity for you to see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Following this, I will ask you to complete a set of questionnaires. These help us gently build an understanding of what you are currently experiencing and provide a clear baseline to track your progress throughout therapy.

We will then begin our first online session, where we will go through your questionnaire results together and collaboratively set clear, realistic goals. I will revisit these goals throughout our work together to ensure we stay focused on what matters most to you and your therapeutic progress.
