About me and my therapy practice
From a background of working in the renewable energy industry and wanting to play my part in making the world a great place in which we can all thrive, rather than just survive, I have learnt at first hand the challenges that we all face in a world that seems to change at an ever increasing rate, affecting our daily lives and the impact to our relationships - personal, at work, with family, to technology and perhaps most of all, to ourselves.
As a key part in my own journey of becoming, I trained to become an Integrative Psychotherapist to offer support to others to navigate the challenges of modern life, managing areas ranging from life crisis and events, anxiety, depression, addiction, loss and grief, bereavement, redundancy, eating disorders, spirituality, culture, religion, domestic and sexual abuse, addiction, PTSD, ADHD. Part of our work will be to explore the influence of childhood experiences that may be affecting the quality of our relationships in the present, and thus our future. I also support those exploring and reflecting upon Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity (GSRD) and am LGBTQ+ aware.
Practice description
I offer in person sessions, supplemented by online work as necessary to maintain the flow of our work together. I also like to use creative means to support therapy, such as drawing, visualisation, dreamwork, sand play and non-contact breath and bodywork where appropriate.
I am accredited by UKCP and a registered member of ÌÇÐĹÙÍø having qualified with a as an Integrative and Transpersonal Psychotherapist (PG Dip) at the Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Paddington, London, of which I am an active member.
My first session
Initial consultation sessions typically last for around 50 minutes in the context of an assessment.  We will discuss what brings you to therapy; and what you wish to achieve as well as any previous experience of therapy you may have. You will be very welcome to ask me any questions you might have.  After an initial assessment and our decision to work together, we commence a short term ‘block’ of eight sessions. After which we can mutually agree to work on a longer-term basis and continuously for up to two years, upon which again, we review and mutually agree to continue sessions if we wish.
