About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified CBT psychotherapist and ÌÇÐĹÙÍø registered practitioner offering a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space for adults who may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, low self-esteem, life changes or feeling overwhelmed, and this is not limited to these difficulties, as people may come with a wide range of other emotional or life challenges.
I believe that reaching out for support can feel like a big step, so I aim to make therapy feel safe, collaborative and understandable from the beginning. You do not need to have everything figured out before you start, and we can take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which looks at the connection between our thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences. Together, we can explore what may be keeping difficulties going and develop practical strategies and coping skills that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
I also have experience of working with children and have an interest in helping people understand and express their emotions in ways that feel accessible and manageable.
I work online, offering flexibility for clients who may find it easier to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of their own home.
My aim is to support you to explore and understand your experiences in a safe, respectful and collaborative space, working alongside you to identify your goals and make meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
My practice offers online therapy in a calm, confidential and supportive environment.
I work collaboratively with each client, recognising that everyone comes to therapy with different experiences, circumstances and goals. We will spend time understanding what has brought you to therapy and what you would like from therapy.
Each and every client is different, and I will work with you to explore what feels most important for you, helping us to develop a shared understanding of your needs and, where appropriate, a plan to support you in working towards your goals.
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. You may be unsure whether therapy is right for you, or you may not know exactly how to explain what you are experiencing. That is completely okay. We can take the time to explore this together at your own pace.
Sessions are delivered online via Microsoft Teams and are 50 minutes in length. I offer a limited number of appointments each week so that I can provide a focused, consistent and personal service to each client.
I aim to create a therapeutic relationship based on respect, honesty, compassion and collaboration, while working within my professional competence and the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to therapy and begin to understand what you would like support with.
Where possible, I ask clients to complete the therapy contract and initial paperwork before our first session. This helps us use our time together more fully to focus on what has brought you to therapy. If you are unable to complete the forms beforehand, we can go through them together during our online session.
At the start of our first session, we will briefly confirm that you have read and understood the contract agreement and any key information. We will then move into talking about what has brought you to therapy, what you are hoping for, and what feels most important for you right now.
I will ask some questions about your current difficulties, how they are affecting you and what you hope to gain from therapy. We may also explore relevant background information, your current circumstances and anything that may be important for me to understand in order to work with you safely, including any safeguarding considerations where appropriate.
There is no expectation that you will have everything prepared or know exactly what to say. If you feel nervous, that is completely understandable, and we can take things at your pace.
We will also discuss what you can expect from sessions, confidentiality, boundaries, and practical arrangements such as appointments and cancellations.
Where appropriate, we may begin to identify some initial goals together. The first session is not about solving everything immediately, but about beginning to understand where you are now and how we might work together going forward.
Sessions are usually 50 minutes and are provided online via Microsoft Teams.
My current charge is £50 per session.
