I work from two places in Islington (N1) and Hackney (E2).
My work days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
At the moment I can take on new clients.
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions, on a long-term or short-term basis.
The language in the sessions is usually English, though I also speak German, and Swiss German, and can communicate in basic French and Italian.
If you are interested in working together, you are welcome to contact me by email so we can arrange a free 15-minute phone or online conversation to discuss what you would like to bring to therapy.
About me and my therapy practice
Navigating the world around us can be challenging, especially when we feel under pressure, adrift, or uncertain.
We all encounter difficult and painful periods in our lives. These might play out in our relationships, or our work situation. Maybe you are experiencing a loss or bereavement, or are feeling anxious or depressed, or disconnected from yourself and those around you.
In therapy, we can explore these experiences together. There may be thoughts and feelings that are holding you back from finding your voice and realising your potential for growth and change.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with a background in somatic work. I offer a creative, safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can begin to understand and work through what is happening for you.
My approach is humanistic and person-centred, which means that I see the building of a therapeutic relationship as central 鈥 a space of trust, curiosity, and reciprocal growth.
Therapy offers an opportunity to reflect on personal concerns and difficulties, creating space for self-understanding and healing. Together, we may rediscover parts of yourself that have been hidden or locked away, and explore the patterns and repetitions in your life that might be unhelpful and that shape how you relate to yourself and others.
Feeling disconnected and experiencing loneliness or a loss of belonging, can result in social anxiety, and depression. Starting over in a different country, culture, or language can be exciting yet deeply unsettling 鈥 a blend of hope for what鈥檚 ahead and longing for what was once home. Having settled in this country myself many years ago, I understand that mix of emotions.
I would like to hear your story and open the space for a compassionate dialogue. My hope is to support you in developing into the person you wish to become so that life can be more enjoyable.
Practice description
I am aware that coming to therapy is a big step. Building a trusting and supportive relationship is very important to me, as is helping you develop a sense of safety. I see our work as a shared process of listening and communicating. Often we can understand situations better when we view them from a distance 鈥 I am here to offer you this outside perspective.
It can feel liberating to talk things through openly with someone you don鈥檛 know. In the safety of confidential conversations we can begin to uncover and gently confront any residual thoughts and feelings related to past experiences that might still be impacting you today.
I don鈥檛 have a prepared map for our journey. Every client brings their personal concerns, unique experiences, their individual histories and philosophies, and that is what we will work with.
The Creative aspect of therapy offers a safe space to explore and express what words alone often cannot. I often bring various art materials into the therapy room to invite you to make an image or connect with the creative materials in your own personal way.
My process does not require you to be 鈥済ood鈥 at art. It is not about skill, but about rekindling a curiosity to create something which hasn鈥檛 existed before. This approach helps develop a freedom and confidence to engage with the world around us while inviting you to rediscover or get in touch with your natural playfulness.
I am interested in the many ways we can express ourselves 鈥 often through words, and sometimes through creative processes when words feel less accessible.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a professional dancer, choreographer and lecturer. Movement has always been central to how I experience the world 鈥 and with movement comes touch, our earliest form of communication. In therapy, I often work with this notion of being in touch.
