About me and my therapy practice
At the heart of my practice is a simple but pretty profound belief: how we connect in the room is what matters most.
I work with a relational approach, which means I show up as a real person in the room with you, staying curious, engaged and honest.
I am a straight-talking therapist who will offer a steady reflection of what I see and feel in our work together.
Our sessions are not about "applying a method" to you, but about a real connection between two individuals.
Within this honest, steady relationship, we work together to explore, uncover and undo what might be holding you back, creating the capacity for you to heal, learn and finally take up your own space.
My path to becoming a therapist was built through a lifetime of navigating high-pressure environments, transitions and personal recovery.
Before moving into psychotherapy, my career spanned the corporate world, from marketing roles and Brand Management for a global skincare company to fifteen years running my own interior design business.
I understand the exhaustion of maintaining an outward image, whether for a brand, a home, or a life, while feeling the intense pressure to succeed and the quiet fear of “failing".
Having navigated my own struggles I know firsthand what it takes to move from shrinking yourself to believing you deserve to take up space.
My life has been defined by change; I have lived abroad, navigated many personal moves and experienced the profound reality of loving and losing.
Today, my life is grounded in simpler, more vital things: being a mother, running my practice and the steady, uncomplicated presence of my beautiful black Labrador.
I bring all of this, along with my warmth, my experience and my focus on our connection into the room with you.
Practice description
In a world full of demands, finding space to unpick your thoughts and make sense of how you feel isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
Whether you are navigating the profound weight of grief, bereavement and loss (including the complex pain of bereavement by suicide), finding yourself muted by a lack of confidence and low self-esteem, or processing specific women's issues, it isn’t self-indulgent to stop performing for a moment. It’s how you find the capacity to show up for yourself, as well as for the people and the life you care about.
Investing in your own headspace isn’t just for right now. It’s about building a solid foundation for your future.
I am a qualified therapist with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, so rather than a "one size fits all" approach, I draw on different therapeutic tools to suit what you actually need.
My practice is relational and humanistic. In plain English, that means I see you as a whole person, not a set of symptoms. We work together as equals, creating a steady environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
At the heart of my work is helping you learn how to take up more space. So many of us are used to making ourselves "smaller" - editing our words, managing our emotions for others, or feeling like we have to perform. Whether we are unpicking long-standing patterns or finding practical ways to handle the noise of daily life, my goal is to help you feel more solid in yourself and take ownership of your own life again.
I work on both a short and long-term basis, depending on your needs. We will have regular reviews together to check in on our progress and how you feel the sessions are going, ensuring the work remains focused on what matters most to you.
My first session
We usually start by talking about what’s brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for. These aren’t rigid targets or boxes to tick, they are starting points or intentions that help guide our sessions.
Therapy with me is a collaboration that evolves with you. It’s about finding what genuinely works for you and your life, at a pace that lets you feel in control.
Every session is different because every week is different
The practical: some sessions we might focus on the 'here and now' i.e. how to get through the week or manage immediate stress.
The patterns: other times, we might look a bit deeper at the experiences that have been shaping how you move through the world for a long time.
We might talk about your relationships, your past and how you tend to react when stressed or under pressure.
We explore what actually matters to you - your values - and how you can live in a way that feels sustainable rather than forced.
Areas of support: while I welcome whatever you bring to the therapy room, I have particular experience and specialisms in supporting clients through:
- Lack of confidence & low self-esteem
- Feeling worried or anxious
- Loneliness & isolation
- Grief, bereavement & loss
- Bereavement by suicide
- The unique pressures / transitions faced by women
Understanding your mind & body
For many, a big part of therapy is making sense of anxiety and stress. It can be a huge relief to understand why your thoughts loop or why your body reacts before you can even think.
Having a clearer picture of how you work often takes the self-blame out of the experience.
Finding what works for you
Therapy with me is shaped around how you actually function, not how you "should."
Whether we use specific tools or quiet reflection, it's only ever if they genuinely help you.
Many people are surprised by what comes up - you might arrive focusing on one issue, only to uncover deeper layers that finally have the space to be understood.
Those are often the moments where meaningful change begins.
