Availability
I currently have availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings.
I understand that life can be busy, and finding time for counselling isn't always easy. If you would like to work together but my current availability doesn't quite fit your schedule, please get in touch and we can discuss what may be possible.
About me and my therapy practice
My approach is Person Centred and Humanistic, placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work together. Rather than focusing on advice or solutions, I offer a space for reflection, exploration and understanding, helping you make sense of your experiences in a way that feels meaningful to you.
I will work alongside you at a pace that feels comfortable, offering a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement.
You may be navigating relational difficulties, caring for a parent or loved one, experiencing overwhelm, or struggling to recognise yourself beneath the roles and responsibilities you carry. You may not even be sure exactly what is wrong, only that something doesn't feel quite right. Sometimes there is a clear reason for seeking support, and sometimes there is simply a sense that things do not feel as they once did.
I offer an opportunity to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences in a supportive and compassionate environment.
I offer face-to-face, online and walk-and-talk counselling sessions, allowing you to access support in a way that feels most comfortable for you.
Practice description
I offer counselling in private practice to adults, providing a confidential space where you can talk openly, reflect on your experiences and explore whatever feels important to you
Alongside my counselling training, I bring extensive experience working within mental health services and addiction services, as well as a personal understanding of the challenges and complexities that can accompany caring for a loved one.
I hold Advanced Diplomas in Counselling, Creative Therapy, and a MSc in Health Psychology.
My first session
The initial consultation provides an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping to gain from the process. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how we might work together.
During this session, I will ask some questions to help me understand your circumstances, concerns and goals. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. An important part of the consultation is ensuring that the support you are seeking falls within my areas of competence and that I am the right person to help.
If we decide to work together, counselling sessions will usually take place on a weekly basis. In our first session, we will review and agree our counselling contract, which outlines what you can expect from me as your counsellor and what will be expected from you as a client. This helps to create a safe, clear and collaborative foundation for our work together.
