About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Keeley. If you are here, I’m guessing you may be tired of coping and carrying feelings around inside while other people see someone who has it all together.
Perhaps you are the capable one: responsible, reliable and used to getting on with things. Yet underneath, you may feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, unsure of yourself or disconnected from who you are. You might be struggling in your relationships, finding it hard to ask for help or wondering why life feels harder than it looks.
You may even question whether you really need counselling, whether you are making a fuss or whether these feelings will pass. But perhaps they have been there for longer than you would like to admit.
I offer relational psychodynamic counselling for adults in Loughton, Essex, and online across the UK. My work can help with anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, bereavement, work-related stress and the pressure of holding everything together.
Together, we can explore the emotional patterns shaping how you relate, cope and carry responsibility, and whether they still serve you now. We will think about what is happening in the present, how earlier experiences may have shaped it, and what emerges in the relationship between us.
Alongside my counselling practice, my background as a Chartered Building Surveyor gives me a grounded understanding of professional pressure, responsibility and the expectation to keep performing.
You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation. I bring warmth, curiosity and thoughtful challenge, and we work at a pace that feels manageable.
I offer face-to-face therapy in central Loughton, convenient for Epping, Buckhurst Hill and Theydon Bois, and online counselling throughout the UK.
Practice description
I am a Registered Member of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. I offer individual counselling for adults, both face to face in Loughton, Essex, and online across the UK.
People come to me for different reasons, including anxiety, relationship problems, low self-esteem, depression, bereavement, loss, stress, burnout and difficulties at work. Others feel overwhelmed, struggle with overthinking, perfectionism or people-pleasing, or sense that they have spent so long looking after everyone else that they have lost touch with themselves.
I work in a relational, psychodynamic way. This means we look beyond immediate difficulties to understand patterns in your feelings, relationships and ways of coping. We may think about how these patterns developed, how they show up now and what it might feel like to respond differently.
Our therapeutic relationship matters. You do not need to perform, present a polished version of yourself or have everything worked out. You can bring your uncertainty as well as the parts of yourself you usually keep hidden.
I offer open-ended, weekly therapy, with appointments usually taking place at the same time each week. Face-to-face sessions are held in a private therapy room in central Loughton, near Loughton Underground station and within easy reach of Epping, Buckhurst Hill, Theydon Bois and Woodford Green.
Online counselling is available throughout the UK.
Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £70. I work in accordance with the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Ethical Framework and attend regular clinical supervision. My privacy notice is available on my website.
My first session
Starting counselling can feel daunting, particularly if you are used to managing things on your own or are unsure whether your difficulties are serious enough to ask for help.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call so we can talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, answer any initial questions and consider whether working together feels like a good fit.
If you would like to continue, we can arrange a 60-minute assessment. This is an opportunity to explore what is happening for you, any relevant background and what you hope counselling might offer. We can also discuss how I work, confidentiality, practical arrangements and whether face-to-face counselling in Loughton or online therapy would suit you best.
You do not need to prepare, tell me everything at once or have the right words. We can begin wherever you are.
The initial assessment costs £80. Ongoing sessions last 50 minutes, cost £70 and usually take place weekly at an agreed regular time.
