About me and my therapy practice
You may be someone who appears to be coping well, but inside feels overwhelmed, anxious or unsure of yourself. Perhaps you are under pressure to achieve, questioning your direction, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. You may long to feel more like yourself again, to have more confidence in your choices, or to build a life that feels meaningful, but aren't sure how to get there.
I believe lasting change happens through relationships. Within the therapeutic relationship, we can begin to experiment with different ways of thinking, feeling and relating before taking that growth into the relationships and situations that matter most. In our work together, you'll have space to notice old patterns as they show up, in how you relate to yourself and to me, and to perhaps try out something different: being more honest, less guarded, or kinder to yourself than you're used to. Through understanding yourself more deeply and experiencing a different kind of relationship, lasting change becomes possible.
I am often described as calm, warm and thoughtful. I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself, while also gently challenging patterns that may no longer be serving you.
As a psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist, I work with students, young adults, and adults who are experiencing periods of change, uncertainty, or feeling stuck. I have a particular interest in working with people transitioning to parenthood, and women who may be experiencing post-natal anxiety or depression.
Before qualifying as a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in university wellbeing and student support, helping students and young adults navigate anxiety, academic pressure, identity and major life transitions. I am also experienced in working long-term with adults who are exploring questions around self-esteem, burnout, purpose, and creating a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
Practice description
I am qualified as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I trained at the Manor House Centre to complete my PGDip in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, and at the Gestalt Centre to complete my foundation training.
I bring a long-standing professional background in complex emotional support working in university wellbeing and mental health services and charities. In these roles I supported students through anxiety and depression, personal trauma, suicidal thoughts, major life transitions, sexuality and identity issues and times of uncertainty and loss.
I have also worked with people transitioning to becoming parents, and the challenges that can bring up in personal identity and relationships. I have a particular interest in working with women experiencing post-natal anxiety and depression.
I work in person in London Bridge and in Cambridge, as well as online.
I have regular clinical supervision and hold liability insurance.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory consultation.
This is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we feel like a good fit to work together.
Many people begin therapy without knowing exactly how to explain what they are experiencing, and that's okay. You do not need to have everything figured out before we begin.
During this consultation, we will explore what is bringing you to therapy, what feels most difficult at the moment, what you hope to gain from therapy, session times and cost, and whether my approach feels right for you.
