About me and my therapy practice

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and finding someone you feel comfortable talking to is an important part of that process.

Hello I'm Charlotte.

My aim is to offer a warm, thoughtful space where you can slow down, make sense of what's happening, and feel genuinely heard. You don't need to have everything figured out before you come to counselling, and you don't have to face life's challenges on your own.

As a trauma-informed integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because no two people, or their experiences, are the same. Together, we'll explore what's brought you to counselling at a pace that feels comfortable, working towards a greater understanding of yourself.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions and trauma.

Alongside my private practice, I have more than five years' experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse. This has given me a deep understanding of the lasting impact trauma can have and the importance of creating a space where people feel safe, respected and in control of their own therapeutic journey.

Whatever has brought you to counselling, my hope is that you'll feel accepted for who you are and supported to explore whatever feels important to you.

  • Counselling Skills (NCFE Level 3)
  • Counselling Skills (NCFE Level 2)

Practice description

I offer face-to-face counselling in Solihull and online counselling for adults across the UK. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, although we can discuss an arrangement that best suits your individual needs.

Whether you're coming to counselling with a specific difficulty or simply a sense that something doesn't feel quite right, we'll begin by exploring what has brought you here and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to have all the answers, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Counselling isn't about being given advice or told what to do. Instead, it's an opportunity to pause, reflect and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore patterns, process difficult experiences and find ways of moving forward that feel meaningful and realistic for you.

I welcome adults from all backgrounds and am committed to providing an inclusive, respectful and confidential service where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

My first session

Before arranging your first appointment, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. It's an opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. There's no pressure or obligation to continue afterwards.

If you decide to go ahead, I'll send you a few documents to read before your first session, including my Counselling Agreement, Privacy Notice and a short Registration Form. Completing these in advance means we can spend less time on paperwork and more time focusing on you.

The first session is about getting to know one another and beginning to explore what's brought you to counselling. You don't need to have everything figured out, and there's no expectation to share more than you feel ready to. We'll work at a pace that feels comfortable, and together we'll begin to understand what you'd like from therapy and how we can work towards it.

You're welcome to ask questions at any point, whether that's before we begin or as our work together develops. My hope is that you'll leave your first session with a clearer sense of what counselling with me is like and a greater understanding of how I can support you.
