About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative approach to counselling, providing a confidential space where you can speak openly, feel heard and begin to understand yourself more deeply.
People often come to me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence, uncertain about the future or stuck in patterns that no longer feel helpful. You may be experiencing difficulties in relationships, grief or loss, the effects of painful past experiences, a major life transition, or simply a sense that something needs to change.
My training is humanistic and integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches according to your individual needs. At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I will not judge you or tell you what to do. Instead, we will work together at a pace that feels safe and manageable, exploring both what is happening now and the experiences or patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel and relate to others.
I am also a qualified and experienced coach, with extensive senior leadership experience as a CEO, Director and corporate consultant. This means I understand the pressures that can accompany responsibility, change, decision-making and appearing capable on the outside while struggling on the inside.
Where helpful, I combine therapeutic depth with practical coaching support. This may include developing clearer boundaries, rebuilding confidence, making important decisions, navigating life or career changes, or finding a more purposeful way of moving forward. The balance between reflection and action will always be shaped around you.
I believe meaningful change often begins with greater understanding, self-compassion and the experience of being genuinely received by another person. My aim is to help you feel supported while developing the clarity and confidence to move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
I work with adults online across the UK and in person in Newquay, Cornwall.
Practice description
My practice is called Every Chance Coaching & Counselling. I offer individual sessions for adults, both online across the UK and in person in Newquay, Cornwall.
Our first session gives us an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with and whether working together feels right for you. There is no pressure to arrive with everything worked out. We can begin with whatever feels most important or manageable.
Sessions are shaped around your individual needs. Some people come with a clear concern, while others have a more general sense of feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from themselves. We may focus on present difficulties, explore how past experiences continue to affect you, or consider the changes you would like to make in your life.
I work at your pace and aim to provide a relationship that feels safe, respectful and collaborative. I will listen carefully, offer reflections and gently help you notice patterns, emotions or possibilities that may be difficult for you to see alone. Where appropriate, I may also introduce practical coaching questions or exercises, but these will always be offered rather than imposed.
Counselling may be short-term or open-ended, depending on your needs and preferences. We will review the work together and talk openly about progress, changes in focus and ending when the time feels right.
Sessions last 60 minutes and are normally held weekly. I offer daytime and evening appointments, with availability varying throughout the week.
You are welcome to contact me with any questions before booking.
My first session
You are welcome to book your first counselling session directly. I also offer an optional free 20-minute consultation if you would prefer a brief conversation before deciding whether to begin.
The consultation gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you may be hoping for, and whether working together feels right for you. You can also ask questions about my approach, availability, fees or how sessions work. There is no pressure to decide during the call, and you need only share what feels comfortable.
Once you book your first full session, I will send you two documents to complete and return beforehand: a Client Intake Form and a Consent to Therapy form. The intake form asks for relevant background information, what you would like support with, and anything important for me to be aware of. You are welcome to leave out anything you would prefer to discuss together.
I will also send you copies of the policies and procedures that explain confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection, note-taking, online and telephone therapy (if applicable), and how to raise a concern or complaint.
Your first full session lasts 60 minutes. We will explore what has brought you to counselling in more depth, discuss any questions arising from the forms, and begin to consider what you would like from our work together.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly where to begin. We can start with whatever feels most important or manageable for you.
