About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life leads us to question who we are, what we need and how to move forward. This may include grief and loss, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or discovering new aspects of identity. I offer a space among the uncertainty to slow down and make sense of what is happening. This can feel especially important when things feel confusing, heavy or difficult to put into words. I am committed to offering an affirming space where you can come as you are, and welcome people of all genders, sexualities and neurotypes.
I am a ÌÇÐĹÙÍø-registered therapist, offering online counselling and psychotherapy for adults across the UK. I also offer in-person sessions in London. I have worked in mental health and related fields since 2019, with experience as a therapist in the NHS and an LGBTQIA+ specialist charity. I offer open-ended therapy, allowing time for deeper exploration without the pressure to have everything figured out.
Rather than viewing distress as a set of ‘symptoms’, I understand it to be shaped through our relationships with ourselves, others and the wider social contexts we live within. Together, we can explore the ways you have learned to cope with your experiences, including those that may have once been necessary but no longer feel helpful.
Alongside my clinical training and experience, I hold a Master's Degree in Philosophy and am a registered yoga teacher. I draw on these elements to support you in finding a sense of safety from which questions of identity, meaning and belonging can be explored with curiosity and care.
My first session
Whether you are coming to counselling for the first time or returning after a break, starting with a new therapist might feel like a big step. To help you through this, I offer an optional free 15 minute introductory video call via Konfidens (like Zoom, but specifically for therapy!). The introductory call can also be held over the phone upon request. The introductory call gives you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and for us to see whether working together would be suitable practically and therapeutically. If we decide to start counselling together, we will then agree an initial consultation and weekly therapy slot.
If we decide to start therapy together, we will begin with an initial consultation which lasts up to 60 minutes and is usually held online via Konfidens. This session gives us the opportunity to explore what you would like to work on and decide whether to continue working online or in-person. The initial consultation costs £70 for daytime sessions and £80 for evening sessions (5pm+).
