About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Sharon. I offer warmth, understanding, and a genuine commitment to supporting you through the challenges that bring you to therapy. As an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I work with a wide range of issues including complex childhood trauma, neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, challenging family and relationship issues, addiction, grief, loss and many more.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where you can feel valued, respected, and free to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting many clients through their personal journeys. Working alongside them as they face challenges, discover their strengths, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves has been both meaningful and rewarding.

I believe therapy is a process of developing greater self-awareness by exploring both past and present experiences. It is not about striving for perfection, but about moving towards acceptance of the whole self. Through reflection and exploration, therapy can help remove obstacles, create new perspectives, and support a more balanced and sustainable way of managing life’s challenges.

With a compassionate, authentic, and supportive approach, I will work alongside you on your journey of growth and self-discovery. My practice is based in the peaceful village of Brockham, offering a calm and relaxing setting for therapy.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent over twenty-five years working in education and social care with children and families. This experience has given me valuable insight that continues to enrich my therapeutic work.

Practice description

My therapeutic approach is primarily relational and psychodynamic, focusing on the deeper unconscious patterns and experiences that may influence how you respond to life today.

Alongside this, I  integrate techniques from other therapeutic modalities including CBT, Gestalt Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.  I  may also use creative approaches such as artwork and visualisation, tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual client.

I  offer face-to-face essions in a private practice room located at the front of my property, with free parking available, in the beautiful village of Brockham.

Online therapy is also available via Zoom, Teams WhatsApp or telephone, depending on your preference.

My first session

Finding the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process.  I  therefore offer a free initial 20-minute consultation via phone or Zoom.  This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and share what has bought you to therapy.

If you feel I  am the right counsellor for you, we can then arrange ongoing weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Counselling sessions for individuals, are £60 per 50 mins session, with concessions available, offered on a sliding scale, based on individual circumstances.

Couples and family therapy £75 for I hour

I hold an Enhanced DBS, am a member of the ICO for data protection and I am fully insured.

About me and my therapy practice

As a Supervisor, I believe supervision should be an enriching and stimulating experience that encourages creative exploration and collaborative learning, where knowledge and understanding are shared openly and thoughtfully.

I aim to provide a supportive and safe environment, offering openness and honesty in an encouraging and constructive way, while being proactive in sharing insight and perspective.

My approach to supervision is informed by Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model — a reflective and relational framework that can be applied across a range of counselling and psychotherapeutic modalities.

Alongside my private practice, I currently provide supervision within organisations supporting young people, offering both individual and group supervision. I also facilitate group supervision within a large London-based charity, supporting practitioners working with issues including homelessness, modern slavery, domestic violence, and mental health. In addition, I provide supervision for NHS staff within a local hospital setting.

I have also established affordable counselling services within two Children’s Centres and a Mental Health Trust, giving me valuable experience in developing and implementing therapeutic support projects.

With over 30 years’ experience across education, family services, and children’s social care, I bring a breadth of knowledge and understanding that enriches my supervision practice.

I offer supervision for work with individuals, couples, families, and young people, supporting both experienced practitioners and trainee counsellors.

Supervision is available at £60 per hour, with a sliding scale offered for student counsellors and newly qualified practitioners establishing their own practice.

For those who prefer, supervision can also be arranged twice monthly for 45 minutes, in line with ÌÇÐĹÙÍø requirements of 1.5 hours of supervision per month
